"Finding Nemo" aims to help Navajo language stay afloat - CBS News (http://www.cbsnews.com/news/finding-nemo-aims-to-help-navajo-language-stay-afloat/)

I saw this last night on CBS News. What a great idea. I love how Hollywood gets involved with worthwhile causes.

Graciegirl. That's funny. I hope some are interested in this YouTube about how to say colors in Navajo. https://youtu.be/LSMAFNIf-mY

Yah Ta Hey.

Right now I am in New Mexico for a few days. One of the radio stations provides a newscast in Navajo. Another station in either Gallup, NM or Winslow, AZ broadcasts in Navajo. I think there may be just a couple of Codetalkers from WWII still alive.

My mother, who taught at the Indian School in Santa Fe, NM, really enjoyed her job. I recall her bringing home a couple of books phonetically written in Navajo. She bought some Navajo art, rugs and jewelry starting in the early 1940's. It is interesting how their art, rugs and jewelry have changed over the years. The Navajos I have met and know are wonderful people!

manaboutown. What an interesting story. I have been in New Mexico a few times as I traveled back-and-forth from Reno, Nevada to the University of Denver three times in the 1980s and would often go the way that took me South and over especially when I wanted to visit my great Uncle in Tempe, AZ. I was often sight-seeing in these trips.
