Thanks to those villagers who responded to my first inquiry.

New questions:
1. How many villages are there and approximately how many homes are in each
village?
2. Do all villages include both villas and single family homes?
3. Are any of the villages all concrete block and stucco homes?
4. Does which county your home is built in have that much impact on your expenses?

These are excellent questions!

Tal will answer you as to how many villages there are. I think 58? No that can't be right. Somebody help on this.....................Tal?

I think all of the newer villages south of 466 include both villas and single homes. Both frame and block and stucco. Except there is either one or two that are all Premier homes and they are all block and stucco.

I THINK I heard that those in Lake County had a little higher taxes. Someone will jump in and clarify I am sure.

One of the things you should do is buy a map of The Villages and you can get it from the Mercantile store for five dollars. Russ Boston has the number and he will read this and post it I am sure.(Also the sales center sells them) The Villages update their maps all of the time and it is invaluable. It shows pools, rec centers, Savannah Center, schools, library, fire stations and major shopping areas etc. I lived with mine in my purse and still have it there all of the time when we come down.

Have you asked the sales center for an information packet? Don't worry they will send it and you will never hear from them. Even when you come for your lifestyle visit, you have to call them. NO pressure. It was astonishing! Even when you made an appointment, there was no pressure. Just you wait and see. It is wonderful.

Have I told you, that you should come down and see how wonderful it is? We bought in April and our first full month in our home in Hadley is in November. I am counting the days.

I have question, We were their last November. Plan on coming down next month. Have they started any building of homes south of 466a or on the left side of Brailey Trail if you take a left off of Buena Vista (going north) going onto Bailey Trail.

There is no home construction South of 466A.

Construction has started southwest of the intersection of St Charles Place and Bailey Trail. This area is by Jacaranda Golf Course which is the most recent 9 to open and part of Cane Garden CC. The first homes that are under construction are patio villas and looks like some courtyard villas will be started within the next month. The St Charles Neighborhood pool and postal facility are done and located on Bailey Trail south of St Charles Place.

They have also started and well into construction on the Pennecamp Neighborhood Pool which is due west of the intersection of St Charles Place and Bailey Trail. This area is huge it runs from Sandhill GC to Lake Miona at the Hibiscus GC and as far West as I can see from Cane Garden CC.

Also they are bidding out and starting construction of the Cypress Glen Regional Recreation Center which will be at the Southwest corner of Bailey Trail Buena Vista Blvd and Odell Circle ( this is at the second roundabout North of 466A and Buena Vista Blvd).

All I know is what I read in various sources. The map that can be obtained at the sales center at no charge called the general area map shows the Cypress Glen Regional Recreation Center. The Villages Daily Sun stated that they are starting bids on this rec center. I was pleasantly surprised that they were putting a Regional Center that close to Lake Miona and Colony Cottage but hope the map is correct.

Also I noticed that they have taken up the construction road that used to run by where Cypress Glen is to be built. We used to use it as a short cut to the Turnpike and Wildwood before Buena Vista was done to 466A.

I also was at the Wellness Center and overheard a Wellness Center guide that was showing the place to a prospect state that in January that they will be starting construction on a Wellness Center at Sumter Landing. I will guess that it will be built where the buffalo were. If that is true I hope that people don't get carried away and say that that is why they took the buffalo away. They had buffalo in many places and they are gone from all locations. I am only guessing where it will be built but there are only a couple of places left to build a new Wellness Center assuming what the fellow said was correct. I will be leaving for the Wellness Center shortly and will ask to confirm.

As requested:

You can order the $5 map from the Mercantile store - 352-753-2129. I received it 2 days later.

It has all roads in TV plus all cart roads. I use it all the time up here to look up where homes are that are for sale. I think it has all the streets down to 466A.

Thanks again, Indy, for information update. It will be nice to have a regional rec center in that area.

Question on the wellness at LSL, would that be the second one within TV, with the first one being at the hospital.

I just got back from my bootcamp work out at the Wellness Center. I asked about what I had heard about a new wellness Center at Lake Sumter Landing. I was told that they are not building a new Wellness Center at Lake Sumter Landing. I was told that they are expanding the Spinning Room and adding an exercise room.

Sorry about the previous post I jumped the gun and should have double checked.

Sorry to keep adding things but below is something that I put in TOV a while back and perhaps prospective villagers will find interesting.

The Villages at completion will have
47 Golf Courses - 621 Holes
35 Executive Courses - 315 Holes
12 Championship - 306 Holes
91 Recreation Centers
59 Neighborhood R/C
21 Village Centers
9 Regional Centers
61 Postal Facilities
69 Pools
84 Miles of Transportation Trails

56,000 Homes
will cover 25,000 Acres
Disney World has 27,000 Acres

At this time there are 24 Executive courses. There are 3 more to be built North of 466A their names are Tarpon Boil, Red Fish Run, and Amberjack. I have been told that one is underconstruction at this time but I have not been able to see the construction yet.

That leaves 8 Executive Courses and 3 Championship Courses for South of 466A. At this time I don't know how many homes are in The Villages but my guess is around 37,000 (if I am high just wait a couple of days) so that leaves around 19,000 to be built.

Indy I did hear that a new Wellness Center is going to be built, but not a LSL. It is further south to accommodate Brownwood as well as the new Villages opening up now. I don't understand the expansion of "spinning" rooms etc. near LSL. Can you explain more of what they said. ???

Chels, you know..you get on a bicycle and spin. There is one across from Amazing Glaze..near the Japanese Steakhouse.

Spanish Springs Villas and Vista Lago Villas both seem to fall under the category of Condo/Townhouse rather than single-family homes, since they share common walls.
However, I'm not a real-estate agent nor do I play one on Television, so I could be wrong.

4. Only Sumter County has new homes. TV in Lake County (the oldest area of TV) is also in the City of Lady Lake; taxes are a bit higher to cover the city services provided.

Is Lady Lake part of the Villages? I'm a little confused about that.

The Villages, Florida

I was told by the postal people that The Villages and Lady Lake are the same place and can be used interchangeably. They said we can ask our friends to address mail to either The Villages, Florida, or Lady Lake, Florida, and it will come to the same place.

Lady Lake is a small city (pop 15K - median age 68) in Lake County north of the City of Leesburg (pop 20K - median age 42). Leesburg seems like a much larger city than Lady Lake but Lady Lake has the concentrated (older) population in TV that Leesburg doesn't have.

The portion of TV that is in Lake County is in the City of Lady Lake.

The much larger, and newer, areas of TV in Marion County and Sumter County are not in the City of Lady Lake or other cities.

The portion of TV in Lake County and the City of Lady Lake are the only areas of TV that have "City Services" (Police, Fire, Schools, Sewage, etc). The other areas of TV have "County Services" from Marion or Sumter Counties. Sumter County areas (the only area with new homes in TV) have "the bond" that is charged to buyers of homes in that county.
