Does anyone know if they are going to do access to cross over rolling acres to shop by golf cart at Kohl's, the new mace's etc. Some people have only golf carts and that would help a great deal????

Sometimes you need to drive a car here. This is a golf cart friendly place but not a golf cart dependent place. It is engineered as an active adult living area.

We can't have everything everyone wants. This place is run better than the place we all left behind.

Even as golf cart dependent as I am I agree. Some places you have to get in your car. Yesterday I found where I can park the cart and spend 2 minutes walking to my doctor's office. I figured the walk would do me good.

OP, get yourself a Street Legal Golf Cart if you want to go across Rolling Acres Rd.

However, be aware a Street Legal Golf Cart will cost you a bit more and Insurance is also higher. Some think it's worth it!

I agree, the Villages don't own this Plaza, they have no skin in the game. If they can't make money off the rent of the owners they don't get to excited about putting access to the area. A proven fact was the deal with the gate on the East side of 441 the Villages by OB Hills's. If they own the property its a completely different game.

That all was settled nicely and to The Villages benefit. We don't have several thousand golf carts using our paths from outside areas. Do you live outside, sir?

Everybody take a breath and chill. The Villages is run and very well run buy and independent company/family. They make money from renting to commercial businesses within The Villages. They must protect their commercial customers. One of the distinct advantages of renting from TV is golf cart access ability.

In the future,if they ever build out, that will be the owners only source of income from TV. Think about it, if it were your investment wouldn't you protect your only source of income. I really can't imagine TV allowing all the surrounding commercial businesses access to TV cart trails. And it's not about overcrowderd cart trails it's business.

Don't assume. OP is obviously talking about an outlet store for Slovakian snack foods.

We were at that shopping center this morning and we did see a woman in a golf cart waiting to cross 466 from the Target shopping area. I could not believe what I was seeing.

No, she was waiting to cross Rolling Acres from the huge Target shopping parking lot into the shopping mall containing Best Buy. My error, I called Rolling Acres 466 which, of course, it is not. I was still very surprised (make that shocked) to see a golf cart waiting to cross Rolling Acres from one shopping area to another.

Hi. If you have a "street legal" cart you can
Legally cross Rolling Acres from Target to
Five Guys. I go to Starbucks $ Paris Nails
With my Gem Car.

Folks in their street legals seem to do as well or better with crossing success than the folks who park in one shopping center and then attempt to cross Rolling Acres Rd on foot while NOT at a properly traffic controlled crosswalk!

That is completely illegal besides being extremely dangerous. Actually if it's a street legal cart I guess it's legal but still risky. It;s hard enough to get across there in a car. Those public shopping areas are not part of any golf car community.

Living on the historic side as we do, we would see carts on Rolling Acres Rd and Avenida Central crossing 441/27 and were surprised also. Upon close 'inspection' we realized they are street legals. They get across before the pedestians trying to get to the bus stop can.

Here's one that takes some real nerve or real stupidity. Coming back from Walmart a couple of years ago eastbound on CR466 near the schools, directly in front of me was a huge fat man with headphones on riding a mobility scooter right down the middle of the road. For all I know, he probably rode it right out of Walmart. It looked something like this, but with headphones.

I saw a lady do this very thing on Rolling Acres crossing from East side to West side. Time 5:15 pm. I was in turn lane heading North.

I recently saw a line of 3 carts (not street legal) driving on the shoulder of 441 heading towards Lowe's. Welp, I thought to myself, since they're evidently a group of friends, at least they'll all die together.

There is no way in which my wife shops and the number of stores she visits that we could go by golf cart in or out of The Villages be it grocery shopping or clothes/appliance etc shopping.

Our cart gets used for golf and golf only unless we walk the courses which is often....saves on batteries. so golf access advertising isn't the draw for us even at restaurants

The cross roads of 441 and Rolling Acres is always very busy all year every day
causing drivers to be inpatient and taking more risks.

Perhaps they'll all get incarcerated together before that happens!

It's also not the simplest intersection to navigate, either, since there are actually two intersections--the one at 441 and the one half a block down to enter either strip mall.

We have always thought that one of these days, when the stars are in alignment, someone hyped up on something is going to blow through one of these intersections and then (maybe) the police will be more interested in old people in golf carts.

Which is fine, but they should be using them where they are legal to use and not trying to get just about anywhere they want to go in a golf cart.

There are many places here to take the golf cart, but not every store & restaurant in the entire surrounding area.

I find the OP question to be quite legitimate. Not everyone has been in the business world and understands what makes the world go around (profit). (Just a quick thought). :)

Everyone knows the real gripe about Rolling Acres Road access is the Trailer Park/Campground on the corner of 466 and Rolling Acres. Well they are there folks and they come into your paradise everyday, all day long. They zip out the side of the trailer park go into the Lady Lake town park and have unlimited golf cart access. Maybe they can wall off Rolling Acres Road.:D

the trailer park never bothered me, I guess you have a self-image issue tied to the trailer park, for my part people are people unless they do you harm. if they want to creep thru parks to get here I feel sorry that they chose the wrong place to live.
