Thanks Chels, that was great.
A little before my time (not by much, tho') I'm a kid of the 60's.
Didn't wear poodle skirts or saddle shoes as a teen,
but the drag races and rock 'n' roll.....

Hi Peg, yes me too. Some of that was from pre-teen and on, but much of it spilled over.

I must be real young, I don't remember any of it!! :joke:
Just saw on T.V. (not tv) that being happy can add 7.5 to 10 years to your life. Maybe tv should add that to their sales brochure. Everyone on this site seems to be as happy as a dog with a bone.
Who says you have to exercise?. Benj

Thanks for the memories Chels. Although I am way too young to remember, my mother told me about the fifties. Hahaha. 1rnfl

Whoops, caught in another lie. I get nervous when I'm called up the desk to explain. I just checked my birth certificate and it turns out I'm 20 years older than I thought. (But I know for a fact that Sammy is only 42). So I guess I do remember the 50's after all. Dontcha just hate these memory lapses. :dontknow:

I just took a language immersion class at our local college in New York State a few weeks ago. I was by far the oldest person in the class, the youngest being less than one-fourth my age! I enjoy all the reminiscences I can.... '-)

Just proves a point Sidney. You're never too old to go back to school!!

That's right, Bare. I am 42. I've been 42 for a while now and I intend to stay 42...or wait..
I must confess..I am not 42. I am 46. Mmmmmmm. That was a divine year...Well, I mean this year when I am 46 is going to be a divine year.
Warning: Ignore the fading chin line in the latest Crispers luncheon pic. The double chin was photoshopped in by VK to make me blend in with the older crowd. ;)

Yes! Sam! That VK and 07 can be very mischievous with their photoshop skills! Adding pounds and chins! What's next? A dowager's hump! This is how I really looked at the luncheon!

Do you see what they've done to me!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrr!
The Villages, Florida.
Well it's still morning here, CO.
I've had this tid-bit on my frig for 4 years now, just wanted to remind you at The Villages, Florida to count your blessings.
Take 100 people , any 100 people entering the work force at the same age. What happens to them on the way to 65?
Thirty-six percent will die before they reach 65.
The other 64 will keep going to 65 but in different ways.
54 of them will end up broke, living on the generosity of their family or friends, or dependent on charity.
six of them where luckier. At age 65 they where able to keep on working. They couldn't afford to retire.
Only four of the 100 made it to retirement age with enough money to live comfortably...to have a choice as to how they wanted to spend the rest of their lives.
These stark facts have motivated me for sometime now and is one of many reasons I'm trying to get to The Villages, Florida I hope to be one of the lucky 4 percenter's. Benj

The Villages, Florida
Yes Benj. You and I do not agree on many many things, but on this we can agree. I wake up every morning counting my blessings to be able to live in this beautiful community and I'm nowhere near 65! We were lucky enough to retire early and get in on the fun. Here's wishing everyone the good luck we've had.
Great post Benj!

Man you look good Chels. No wonder you wear the looser clothes...Vetman would be green with jealousy watching all the guys checking you out. What a devoted, wifely thing to do.

I love that one Chels. Can I use it as a future avatar. I am glad you have refused to accomodate Vetman. You are much prettier than this pic. He must be very possessive. http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj277/lake21brook/36_11_61.gif http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj277/lake21brook/36_11_61.gif

No, never a dowager hump for any of us, we are way to young.
Chel is that what we will look like when we are on this side of 125 years.
