He rented this plane from National Airlines and removed the large US flag that was on the tail of the plane and replaced it with the design that shows his arrogances.
I saw the plane in a previous email and down loaded what the flag did look like to make sure Natinal Airlines didn't modify the flag. He does not salute the flag, wear a flag pin because he feels the US flaunts its power.
This man should never be elected President of the US and his motto is "Change" and you can see the change coming.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Subject: DISGRACE!
How AROGANT can he get!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is TRUE. Check it at snopes. http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/airplane.asp
WHAT A DISGRACE!!!
Obama The Patriot - Removes American Flag From His Plane
It had a huge waving American flag before Obama got it.
Barack Obama recently finished a $500,000 total overhaul of his 757. And as part of the new design, he decided to remove the American flag from the tail...
What American running for President of the United States would remove the symbol of his country? And worse, he replaced the flag with it with a symbol of himself...
Please pass this on if you're not ashamed of your country or it's flag & think this is a disgrace!

According to snopes this is true.
Letter to the editor from a cuban.
Dear editor, Times- Dispatch
Each year I get to celebrate Independence Day twice.
On june 30, I celebrate my independence day, and on July 4 I celebrate America's.
On June 30, 1968, I escaped Communist Cuba, and a few months later, I was in the United States to stay
That I happened to arrive in Richmond on Thanksgiving Day is just part of the story, but I digress.
I've thought alot about the anniversary this year.
The election year rheroric has made me think alot about Cuba and what transpired there.
In the late 50's, most Cubans thought Cuba needed a change, and they where right.
So when a young leader came along, every Cuban was at least receptive.
When the young leader spoke eloquently and passionately and denounced the old system, the press fell in love with him.
They never questioned who his friends were or what he believed in.
When he said that he would help the farmers and the poor and bring free medical care and education to all, everyone followed.
When he said he would bring justice and equality to all, everyone said,' Praise the Lord'.
And when the young leader said, I will be for change and I'll bring you change, everyone yelled "Viva Fidel".
But nobody asked about change, so by the time the executioner's guns went silent, the peoples guns had been taken away.
By the time everyone was equal, they were equally poor, hungery, and oppressed.
By the time everyone received their free education, it was worth nothing.
By the time the press noticed, it was to late, because they were now working for him.
By the time the change was over, more than a million people had taken to boats, rafts, and inner tubes.
You can call those who made it ashore anywhere else in the world the most fortunate Cubans.
And now I'm back to the beginning of my story.
Luckily , we would not fall in America for a young leader who promised change- without asking, What change? how will you carry it out? What will it cost America?
Would we?

Why don't you get your stories straight? Or at least tell the whole story? The Flags were removed from Senator Obama's plane because the Flags on the tail of the planes of North American Airlines is a registered company trademark. Boy, talk about reaching. Here's the entire story, if you care to read it.

I am not a supporter of Sen Obama at all, but this story while has some elements of truth is vastly over done. Frankly I spent very little time even looking into this but think I saw the American flag on the other side of the tail.
Folks, look at the candidates backgrounds and REAL stands on issues and not this stuff.
Would love to see this board become a REAL political discussion area but this plane thing is not an issue.

Neither is the implication that America will become another Cuba. All this stuff is silly.

Thank you Chelse, for bringing clarity to that sham. I guess that's what happens, when you don't look at anything but the pictures. Actually Snopes added the following comment to that over-spun story.
North America Airlines logo
(Photo by Mark Wilson / Getty Images)
Comments: Individual observers will have differing opinions as to how "disgraceful" it really is, but the basic claim that an image of the American flag on the tail of Obama's campaign plane was replaced with the "Obama '08" logo is true.
The painted-over flag (see photo at right) was part of the logo of North America Airlines, which owns and operates the Boeing 757 chartered by the Obama campaign since March 2008. The plane was refurbished inside and out in July.
Obama logo
(Photo by Peter Macdiarmid / Getty Images)
The company markings, which included flag symbols on both the fuselage and the tail, were replaced with the Obama campaign logo and the now-familiar slogan "Change We Can Believe In." (John McCain's campaign jet, though supplied by a different airline, has been similarly customized.)
It bears pointing out that a small American flag actually does appear on Obama's refurbished plane -- in the same (and only) location it appears on McCain's -- right next to the tail number. Neither candidate, that is to say, strove particularly hard to convert their official campaign transportation into a symbol of patriotic fervor.

Please read the history books about the ,change, that Hitler wanted to bring to his country. I know this man is not Hitler but history does parallel itself. We must learn from history not repeat it. Don't change just for change sake readjust what we have. A sailor saying is you cant change the wind adjust the sails. If you have ever been knocked down in sail boat it is the same as this election. Trim your sails and you will make to port safely.

OMG, how low has this board sunk with postings? To mention Hitler, the despot killer and murderer of millions of innocents, as a comparison with Obama is despicable. there have been hundreds of policticians who ran on platforms of change, both Republican and Democrat, who then failed miserably to deliver who you could have compared him to, but to mention only the name of Adolf Hitler is too much.
I need to stop reading the political postings and stick with the ones about new restaurants and other changes and good things at the Villages.

Ddoug said "A sailor saying is you cant change the wind adjust the sails."
I think Obama may be better able to adjust the sails than McCain. With so many radical conservatives in this country, Obama has to toe the line. He has to make us proud. I think he could become one of the best Presidents in recent times. He seems to be moving more towards the middle. I like his ability to "adjust the sails". I'm not sure that McCain is able to adjust. Before some of you go all apepoo on me, I have been to the right of John Birch for much of my life. Am I gettin wiser in my old age? I hope so. I realize some of you will think I've gone batty instead, with this defense of Obama. I just think the man wants to make America respected again. He will have to make some hard choices and take some hard lines in terms of defense. I think he is up to the challenge. I admire his patience and grace under fire. Time will tell.

I certainly did not want to discuss the plane thing, but cannot leave this post go unanswered.
Sen Obama is as far left as you can get...closer to marxism and certainly socialism for sure.
The fact that you say ..." moving towards the middle" shouild tell you how he will do what it takes to be elected.
You speak of radicals.....check out Sen Obama's associates and "teachers" in his life.....most if not all were radicals. His entire background is with left wing radicals, but as you say he "moves to the middle" and that "movement" has happened just recently.
READ READ READ about his background.....READ READ READ just the Global Poverty act he has before congress now where he wants to "redistribute the worlds resources". Is that what you want in this country...more movement to the left....more social programs.....we are now a nation of enablers and we want more ?
Tell me how can you ignore his past associates and teachers since he has no accomplishments to make a decision on ? On what would you elect this man to be President of the United States ? We are not even allowed to say his full name or we are racist.
Sorry...I am not a staunch supporter of Sen McCain either, but I do not want this country to make a sharp left turn, not as sharp as Sen Obama will take us. I not only do not want all the social programs but this guy has said he will negotiate (since he has backed off a bit but that is his style) with terrorists. Negotiate with folks who have said publicly they want to kill all of us...who behead and torture and we are going to negotiate. Negotiate with a man in Iran who said that the holocaust did not happen and that Israel is...well, lots of names. This is your new president ?
I look at his proposals to "resdistribute our resources" and I really worry a lot. We already give a lot of what we have earned to folks who deem it their right to get it from us....and I want no part of the socialist left wing in the White House...not this far left.
I could go on but already probably went on too long. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT SPECIFIC ISSUES YOU ADMIRE OF THIS MAN ? PLEASE.

Bucco, I have admitted to being a right wing radical in my youth and into my late thirties. Why should Obama have been any less passionate about his early beliefs? I think as we age and learn more, our beliefs change and evolve...hopefully for the better. We acquire more
wisdom through the years. You know..the old Pa Dutch saying "To soon old, to late schmart"? Sometimes it takes us some years to get "schmart".
Obama may well not be our answer but I feel McCain is an even worse answer.
Obama can't be left wing in the White House. He knows it, I know it and I think most people know it. It will not stand. The lunatics won't allow it to stand.
If he is elected, I hope you will give him the chance to lead this nation. If he screws up, then start with the verbal attacks.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me what proposals of Sen Obama have you so passionate ?
You give no reasons to not want Sen Mcain....no reasons to support Sen Obama !!!!!
PLEASE PLEASE SHARE WHAT ARE THOSE THINGS THAT Sen Obama will do for this country that has inspired you ? I would askthat you not use the one word with no meaning....CHANGE...listen, most americans are not happy with the nation today...but CHANGE just for Changes sake is a huge mistake. That is not enough ! WHAT MAKES YOU SO PASSIONATE ABOUT Sen Obama ? What proposals have lit your fire ? Do you favor the Global Poverty act ?

I will back off now. Listen, if you read both websites (McCain and Obama) you will find lots to agree with because they are written by pros to solicit your vote.....for me, it is a simple matter of not wanting this country to make a radical turn left which if you know Sen Obamas background and efforts it will.
I suppose it is that simple....whether you want to turn sharp left to make a change or not. I dont, you do ! Just insure that you know what that left turn could mean !

Perhaps a more recent example of "promise" to change, and now many months hence....in addition to no change, Congress is at the lowest ratings ever....single digits...worse than Geo. W. ratings.....Nancy Pelosi.
The more relevant issue for me...IMHO...is the fact no matter who says it....no matter who gets elected....when they don't do what they "promise" ....we the people do nothing about it. And as I have posted many, MANY times before, the candidate(s) count on the apathy to go merrily on their way.
What needs to change is the American people need to demand MORE from the 545.....ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY DO NOT DO THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE......AS PROMISED!!!!
The apathy is not a partisan problem......it is a cross party major issue everybody knows about with no action taken by anybody for accountability. As the saying goes when in Washington do what they do in Washington.....NOTHING.... because nobody will do anything about it.
The silent majority needs to stand and be counted.......a hopeless cause I fear!

Bucco, I don't think Obama will or most importantly,be able, to make that left turn.
It won't be allowed and he is smart enough to know it. He is a very intelligent man. I think that, in itself, is a rare quality in DC. Cunning is in abundance there. I think he can be a hero. If he isn't, I'll be among you yelling for him to go away. I think he wants to do great things for this country. Like many, I am willing to give him the chance. If he abuses our trust, shame on him. He will not be elected to a second term. I hope he is a knight in bright shiny armour. Is that only in fairy tales? Can he help our Republic to again shine in the eyes of the world? I hope so...and it's the first hope I've had in some years.

Look buddy you can ask Lord Obama supporters till your blue in the face for a reason for their support but you will get no answer. I have asked all the lefties, libs, dems etc on this site for months and so have many many others but not one of them has been able to do so because they can't. They don't have a clue what Lord Obamas plans are because he is afraid to let us know. He knows ,if we did, he couldn't get elected. They don't like that I call him Lord Obama, but it fits to me because It takes a leap of faith to support him and you cant argue with someone over their faith.
Maybe I'm the only one ,but a poster asked when we where one nation under God, just the thought that someone could ask that question tells you alot about the state our country is in.

Now this could be a liberal viper's nest. I don't know. We should just read all we can and try to assimilate all that we've read. Then we pick out the truth from the lies. Is it true? I just said I read it.
I do know one thing, the hostility of political issues on this forum does not lend itself to anyone learning anything. You all just get :edit: with each other and then end up disliking one another. I thought we strove for unity. Think I'll go back to TNES.

I don't understand the back and forth with those who keep asking others to justify why they support a particular candidate or not. We are all obviously internet savvy and can check out the candidates' voting records and platforms and make our own decisions.
I have researched both candidates on the issues of importance to me, which include education, the war(s) and defense spending, and the environment. Based on doing my own homework, I can certainly answer why I am supporting a candidate.
However, if I stated why on this forum, I am convinced it would not satisfy those who don't agree with my positions, so why would I bother? To each his own.

I agree. Generallly the only time I get involved is when people post inflamatory or untrue information; then I try to set the record straight. Some people may read the posts and actually believe what they read without doing their homework. I just feel compelled to have them read the truth, so they can make up their minds based on the facts not some emotionalism disguised as fact.

TRAVEL...your point is well taken however I have found that over the years I have learned a lot from open discussion and have had my opinion changes or made more solid.
Personal attacks are what makes forums like this a bad place. I actually enjoy hearing others points of view whether I agree or not.
I realize I have been pushing a few folks to support their candidate because they only seem to post if someone says something about their candidate but NEVER to support only to deny and that is what I am having difficulty with especially in this election.

SAMHASS....thank you for the website...one I had never visited it and I appreciate it.
It seems to be in the middle and that I like....will use this information to discuss something you said about reading things and pick out the truth from the lies, etc. This report which is accurate it seems on the donations, if you read it, is based on 323 total donations and to me that is important since it is not a significant number. The total picture did suprise me though, and I am glad I am aware of it now.
Now, as to hostility....not from me. I do suggest that if you support someone or are opposed to someone you should say why,and not simply post if some one says something about your candidate. We seem to be seeing a lot of that this election cycle. For example...had you supplied the source of your information when you first posted there would have been no "hostility" at all. I do, BUT IT DOES NOT APPLY TO THE WEBSITE YOU SUPPLIED, have problems with many sources on the internet as you can validate and find a website to help you on just about anything (aliens at Lake Sumter Landing) and thus I surely do check when one is used as a source.
I find open discussion helps me...I learn a lot...over the years have changed my position on some things as a result of open discussion. I think I am just scared to have folks vote based on headlines, CNN (or any news channel) goobly gook, or what some tells them that goes unchallenged. We have a lousy congress right now, in my opinion, based on the voting we do in "off year elections". The only thing that seems to matter is Presidential and that is not exactly true as we can see by just looking at the long time senators and Reps that should not be in Washington.
In any case, thanks for the website...have saved it for future reference

Missed you at the Crispers luncheon. I thought you and BTK would show up.
Anyway, I'd rather we were friendly than talk politics and want to be angry with one another. Have a nice evening Bucco....and I hope you are wrong about things...and not so that I am right. I want whatever it takes to restore the greatness of America. I want this country to be respected and held in reverence by the rest of the world.

Not messing with anyone...too old to defend myself anymore :)
The only thing I keep asking everyone is one thing.....Why do you support Sen Obama ? What has he done for your or this country that would allow you to totally disregard his past associations ?
I believe if ANY other candidate for President of the US had these kind of associations they would be pushed aside quickly. I realize that Sen Obama is a great orator and fund raiser....I also realize the folks are disenchanted with what is going on in right now and want a change. But change JUST FOR CHANGE with no regard to what we are changing to ?
That is pretty much all I have been asking and promise to behave...I try to be very careful about any kind of personal remarks to posters or candidates !

Bucco, it's not complicated. It's a simple declarative sentence. I AM BACKING OBAMA BECAUSE I LIKE HIS STANDS ON THE ISSUES! That said, I am not going to literally repeat all of his stands on the issues. Here are two links below:

I agree with his positions. This is why I'm voting for him. I really can't make it any clearer than that. This is not just voting for change, this is voting for a man I believe in. I think he will be a stellar President of the United States. :#1:

We’ve had good presidents with little experience and bad presidents with lots of experience. The really undecided voter should focus on policies, judgement, knowledge, intellectual capacity, character and the candidate’s advisors. Obama has had 10 years of experience as a legislator. If I recall, Bush had only 6 years, and look at what a poor president he's turned out to be - not necessarily from his experience level, but based on his poor decisions. for being so "inexperienced", Obama made a well formed decision when he voted against the Iraq war.
If you're really interested in Obama's experience and accomplishments, go to this link:

Fair enough...I respect that and that is what an election is. Allow me to explain my frustration however if you will without getting personal, CERTAINLY not about you and trying not to with Sen Obama.
I hear supporters of Sen Obama who say they think he is great....but they dont know why. I support many of the WORDS of both candidates, but I put more stock in actions. When Sen Obama first burst on the scene, I started to check on this guy who I had never heard of....listened to his speeches which are terrific. I still see absolutely no substance whatsoever in Sen Obama, although I will admit that if he could translate his beautiful words into actions I would be impressed,...HOWEVER the FACTS do not substantiate that happening.
Example...in the recent Georgia situation, he sends his top aide,Susan Rice on CNN to say that perhaps Sen McCain has made the situation worse by his response (which was not much different than Sen Obama and along the lines of what this country wants..support our allies), and then will give a speech saying we should not allow politics to enter into situations like this. His words are always different from what he does (or as is the norm someone on his campaign does for him).
We will see in November......I am surely not a supporter of Sen McCain, but will vote for him. Should Sen Obama win and he should, I will surely support him as my President but will fight with all my might to prevent the almost certain movement to socialism.

I am not so hung up on the experience issue although it counts (See George Will's newest book for a good discussion of this issue) but I could not agree more with advisors and character. This includes, at least to me, background where character is built and I hope that all look deeply into this. Jessie Jackson's son(Sen Obama's co manager) once said after the SC primary that Sen Obama was acting "too white" and I expected him to go after that...didnt and that dissapointed me, but I would ask everyone to do just what you asked Lil Dancer....check on character and advisors and background...very important !

LIL DANCER....I read the link you supplied and thank you for the link. Although obviously very slanted it still allows a different perspective.
All his accomplishments in congress were done in a total of about 4 months as that is approx the total time he spent there. THAT is not a critique of his experience but maybe a critique of the over reach of presenting his accomplishments. He also in those short 4 months became the most left wing Senator, and therein is MY PERSONAL problem with Sen Obama.

You neglected to mention his 8 years as a State legislator, and his accomplishments there:
In the Illinois State Senate, this meant working with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state. He also pushed through an expansion of early childhood education, and after a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama worked with law enforcement officials to require the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.
In the U.S. Senate, he has focused on tackling the challenges of a globalized, 21st century world with fresh thinking and a politics that no longer settles for the lowest common denominator. His first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent. He has also been the lead voice in championing ethics reform that would root out Jack Abramoff-style corruption in Congress.
As a member of the Veterans' Affairs Committee, Senator Obama has fought to help Illinois veterans get the disability pay they were promised, while working to prepare the VA for the return of the thousands of veterans who will need care after Iraq and Afghanistan. Recognizing the terrorist threat posed by weapons of mass destruction, he traveled to Russia with Republican Dick Lugar to begin a new generation of non-proliferation efforts designed to find and secure deadly weapons around the world. And knowing the threat we face to our economy and our security from America's addiction to oil, he's working to bring auto companies, unions, farmers, businesses and politicians of both parties together to promote the greater use of alternative fuels and higher fuel standards in our cars.
But obviously, if you don't like his liberal leanings, it wouldn't matter how much experience he has.

HAPPY62...LIL DANCER........I did not bring up the experience issue at all. I simply responded with a comment concerning his web site listing accomplishments and said it happened in 4 months. I never mentioned nor do I question his state accomplishments. In addition I said earlier that I did not think that experience was a large issue..an issue but not a big deal.
I have said over and over again.....and to someone who said you believe what you want to believe.....my concern about Sen Obama is his training and background. Nobody on here has disputed what I mentioned...just ignored it. I submit to you that if a candidate came on the scene in any other time period...ie., without Iraq and our troubled economy....with such a background they would have beem dismissed. I have also said, so nobody accuses me of "bad mouthing" somebody or being negative...that he may be a great President...I dont know and neither do you. I simply have stated my concern....and my opinion. And that can be summarized by saying that this country cannot afford to make a sharp turn left...it just cannot do it, and BASED ON SEN OBAMA'S TRAINING AND RECORD THAT IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN...BASED ON HIS RECORD. I do not, personally believe in socialized medicine...or more social programs.
I have never said one thing about the man personally except his background is not a comfortable fit for me. All I hear is cheerleading and excuses for anything he says or does, and that does not sit well with me. He must take some respsonbility sometime somehow for things he says and does...every critique cannot be passed off as unfair because it is him.
I have looked at the issues and where each SAYS they stand...I look forward to the debates to get a look at substance HOPEFULLY.
I have never ever passed on or posted the things you find on the internet about Sen Obama, so those who say I "believe what I want" are not correct. I believe what I am able to verify.
I have asked to discuss issues...ISSUES...not rumors. I have responded when a counter was given to me about his background and training and not one iota in response.
Telling me and everyone else that whatever they hear is wrong because it is about Sen Obama makes no sense to me without some kind of substance.
I always feel like I am being lectured when I hear....I only believe what I want because that is FACTUALLY AND SUBSTANTIALLY WRONG and can be verified by my posts...Ihear only GO OBAMA and nothing of any substance. I even said how I would support Sen Obama if he were elected...I have said that I am not excited about Sen McCain.
I can only assume that those who post in support of him are ok with a left turn toward a socialist society...I did not say communist or any other bad words...it is obvious that he wants my taxes to pay for somebody elses medical care....and pay for a lot more things that I think need to be earned. THAT is my concern...there isnothing personal here...simply my credo that I do not want the govenment to be paying or interfering with everyones life....to me less government is a better government.
I suppose I should stop posting here because there is no discussion...I have agreed with not having any difficulty with experience....and my assumption, I suppose, has to be that all the social programs that he endorses, including the Global Poverty act are ok with folks and just shut up and let it be.

Gosh, I wish people would stop depending on snopes for facts. Like Wikipedia, it is not totally dependable to use to base your decisions on.
