Evans Prairie will be hosting a fundraiser August 2nd, 8am-noon for Lacey Klein, GM of Evans Prairie, who was in a terrible accident nearly a month ago. She is a single mother and is in need of help. She is likely to be out of work for at least another month, most likely longer, with ongoing medical bills that would financially cripple most of us. 100% of all proceeds will be matched by Evans Prairie and given to her. I am very hopeful that readers of this post will feel inclined to help. She's a good person for one, and wouldn't it be nice to see your charitable dollars in action? Details will be in Friday's and Saturday's Fresh Made Market Ads in the paper. I have faith that the kind people of the Villages that I run into each and everyday will come together in unity for this very good cause. Thank you for your every consideration!!!

Thanks very much Bonnie. I was hoping that this post might get more views as Lacey's needs are significant, but maybe the full page Ads in the paper on Friday and Saturday will get the job done. With Fred matching 100% of the proceeds after having continued to keep her on payroll thus far, I'd say Evans Prairie is doing all that they can, but it still doesn't come close to getting the job done for her. Oh well, I am not going to lose faith in this event that easily, or the people of the Villages. $25 minimum donation for a breakfast is a lot, but its a very worthwhile cause folks

I saw the item Bonny put up on the Villages Group's Facebook page. Looks like a worthwhile cause.

Wow, what a day it was. I think if I had to do it over I would have posted something without using 'fundraiser' in the header, as just before I left to work the fundraiser this morning there were not very many views (just over 400), guess maybe this wasn't the best place for a posting like this. But from the moment I started working people came, and more , and then more. It wasn't as busy as it could have been but we (Evans Prairie) are not really a breakfast restaurant so it ended up working out pretty well. And at the end of the day the people of the villages came together and contributed a little over $8500, and then Fred matched that bringing the total to just over $17,000 dollars!!!! Thank you ever so much to all that contributed. Its a great day to be part of the human race!

Wow, $17,000 is a hefty sum to help Lacey. When we arrived at EP the parking lot was filled and we figured the fundraiser would be a huge success. Thanks for your hard work for making this happen. The food was delicious too.
