Please share your experiences with Dr. Apostol and/or the FPG office located at 1400 HW 441 N. I received the notice that Dr. Francis was retiring and the Lake Sumter office was closing. Dr. Apostol's profile was suppose to be included with the notice, but it was not.

I was very disappointed recently trying to work with the Lake Sumter office. It could have been due to the upcoming closure but I wasn't made aware of the changes at the time. If I'm going to change doctors anyway now would be a good time to find an entirely new group and doctor so I welcome recommendations for an Internal Medicine or Family Doctor.

Aha! My hubby & I also received that letter. No resume of Dr. Was included. Big mistake...looks fishy to me. I too would like opinions of this dr.

My parents were also going to Dr Francis and are concerned about this new doctor. They have freedom insurance and are limited on what doctors they can see. They plan on changing their insurance so they can see the doctors at colony after the first of the year. For now they need to stay with Dr. Apostol. So please if anyone has seen him please share your opinion. Thanks

He was at the closed office in Mullberry...I have seen him a couple of times and he was OK...I do have problems with the office staff on 441, they just don't seem professional, just one persons opinion...

Does anyone know a good female internal medicine doctor, since Dr. Francis retired???

My husband goes to FPG but never gets to see Dr. Apostel. Only gets the PA's who seem to leave quite frequently. Fortunately he is in good health and only needs routine check ups. His HMO limits the MDs he can see.

I am a patient of Family Physicians of The Villages and see Jesus Apostol, MD. I have been extremely happy with this doctor and the entire staff is very pleasant and professional. The staff has had to undergo a lot of changes recently with the closing of two of their other offices and combining them all into one office. With the increased volume of their phone calls and patients the front office staff has remained very professional and tries to be as helpful as they can. This office is not privately run, it is a corporate run office and the letters that patients received regarding the closing of the offices came from the corporate location out of Orlando and missing information should not be blamed on the staff in the local office. I feel the staff deserves to be commended for a job well done despite what they have had to endure and the negativity against them as they are taking the brunt of corporate decisions that are out of their control.

I had a follow-up appointment with Dr Francis. In the meantime, she retired, and they told me to just keep my appointment. I went assuming I would just be reassigned to a new doctor. When I got there, they had no record of my appointment and turned me away. Pretty bad! I guess I'll look for another group.
