This couple was seen walking the boardwalk with their dog. I thought it summed up life in The Villages.

Yep.........that's one of the first things I noticed when visiting The Villages for the first time over 7 years ago. And it's what definitely sold me that this was the place that I needed to eventually call home.

Thanks for capturing this picture of love in The Villages and sharing with all of us.

We know at least six couples that met in The Villages and ended up getting married. Sweet!

I love to see pictures of people with grey hair being romantic. It's the best! And their dog completes the perfect picture.

My wife and I have been together since we were freshman in high school.

Our first corporate move took us to an area rated number 1 to rear a family. my entire neighborhood participated in Marriage Encounter. Our next move carried us south. My kids went ballistic when they discovered most of their friends had divorced parents. My daughter once told me that my wife and I made marriage look easy. I reminded her that we were reared to remain reticent about such matters and quietly resolve our disputes without involving the rest of the family and so, no marriage isn't easy. Its a constant struggle but made easier because of love, commitment and a sense of fairness. So I found myself apologizing to her.

So congratulations if you made it to 50 + years of marriage you are all happy warriors

I keep coming back to this thread because it is such a "feel good" thread and I'm enjoying reading all the comments. Thanks again, Ale, your picture is beginning to speak a thousand words through this forum!

Your post is so inspiring - thanks for sharing. My husband has an aunt and uncle, who God willing, if they both make it another couple of months will be celebrating their 80th wedding anniversary! Now there's a milestone many of us will never be fortunate enough to see in our lifetimes, but it is really a blessing to be able to celebrate with the few who do.

The wife and I and our dog will be moving to our house in TV in a couple of years. I hope that will be us for a long time to come after that!

Congratulations to you and your bride, John! That's lovely to hear.

I don't know why, but I generally assume the couples I see holding hands and being affectionate are long-married even though I know better. The three couples I've become close with since moving here are all on their second or more marriages. If the statistics run true, divorce or widowhood is likely to have been in play for half of all couples in TV.

I have always admired Rubicon's commitment to his wife and to family life.
In this changing world we live in, it's nice to hear about people with traditional values.
