Have no fear.
In a few months - when it starts getting cold - you will get nothing but early tee times as most folks will want the later, warmer times. Happens to me all the time.
Last year it seemed like we ended up playing Peilican at 7:47 every week.
Didn't get warm until June !

Do you look 1-3 days out to see what is available or put in a request 4-7 days out?
If I want an early tee time, I put in a request and get it 9 out of 10 times.

since I play every morning I just go in each morning the day before and grab one. I have never not been able to do this. I get for two all year long.

It's called the "points system"... and there are several course closed on a daily basis.

Not sure how , when you input requests but we never have requests time problems whether am or pm times. You may want to call tee time office for response to your problems.

Since I usuall don't stir till 9 a.m. I'll be no competition for the early tee times when we return to The Villages this winter. For the first time, we'll be there as a home owner, not renters. Silver Lake Village. I'm flying down in December to look for and buy a used gas golf cart, Yamaha or EZ-Go.

I will go in on Thursday to make an early tee time for Saturday. I have noticed it is hard to get times on some of the more popular courses, but times are available. Just need to be flexible on where you play.

My husband and I also purchased a house in Silver Lake and will be heading down in October. We're on Rainbow Blvd.

There in lies the problem. Most people that live south of 466 will only play courses that are south. Some won't go north of 466a. I personally have no problem getting in my golf cart and play Amberwood or Oakleigh or any course I can get to by golf cart.Oh and by the way I live south of 466a. Flexibility is the way to play golf any time of the day you want!

Put your request in 4 days ahead. Put in a lot of courses (more than 7).
Put in a span of time of at least 3 hours(more is better)
If your group has more than 2 pts each you may not get your requested time but you will probably get something.
Make sure you put in time preference instead of course preference.
When we have 0 pts we get our first choice course and time
As others have suggested, it is easier to get on the northern courses
I hope this helps

The playing season for golf in Minnesota is not quite as long as in states south of y'all. ;)

I have no difficulty getting tee times on Executive courses. I tee off every single weekday between 9:30 and 10:30 AM.
The key is to give the tee time system computer a long list of courses and at least a 90-minute window to make your reservation. Having said that, I like to play the 6-8 courses closest to my home. With very few exceptions, I get tee times on those courses in my 9:30-10:45 AM window.
Also, have you used the "open times by tee time" option when trying to make a reservation? There is always a long list of open tee times, even during the high season.
There are plenty of tee times available in the summer months, even with the elevated course maintenance schedules. You just have to learn how to use the tee time system.

Interesting point! I have read in other rants....errrr....posts, that there are 95 golf holes per person in The Villages. I wonder if anyone has taken the time and or effort to see if this ratio holds for the number of homes south of 466 vs the number homes north? If one really had lots of time the ratio could be broken down even further. North of 466, between 466 and 466A, and south of 466A. Any statisticians out there is this vast digital wasteland willing to take this on??? :)

have you noticed the rain most of the summer. it has closed several courses. others are closed for work. there are more full time people. put it all together and it gets harder to get a preferred tee time.

I put in for 7 to 9 am for three groups and never have a problem. A group of 8 on Wednesday and two groups of 12 on Monday and Friday. I also pick out 12 different courses.
