I have tried not to be overly concerned, not to over react to what is happening in the world, but this morning I read and recall the last few days...

I read from a link on here that MOVEON and other groups are actually lobbhing and demanding votes on the IRAN deal.

https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/villages-florida-political-talk-88/nixing-iran-agreement-158170/index4.html

I read that the top Military official who is restricted to travel by the United Nations visits Russia for talks.

I read this morning that some in the Intelligence Community of our country think that ISIS is building to a mass attack on our country instead of the lone wolf type.

ISIS seen building capacity for mass casualty attacks - CNNPolitics.com (http://www.cnn.com/2015/08/07/politics/isis-mass-casualty-strategy/index.html)

In that same article on ISIS plans you read "Meanwhile, the U.S. effort to train rebels in Syria to fight ISIS is having trouble. The few rebels that the U.S. has put through training are already in disarray, with defense officials telling CNN that up to half are missing, having deserted soon after training or having been captured after last week's attack by the al-Qaeda-affiliated Nusra Front attack on a rebel site. One defense official admitted to CNN that "they are no longer a coherent military unit," and Pentagon officials acknowledged the approach of how to support the rebels has to change.

Maybe we are so concerned with what Trump says or other things but it sure feels like a "perfect storm" is brewing for this country.

I hope it is just my mood this morning but I admit concern.....

I believe you are right in your concern. But, America still has patriots even though they are being out shouted by the liberals. You can't tie a soldier's hands behind his/her back with PC and expect to win any war. Once that is understood, then we will be the winning team again. WE have to have our secrets. American citizens don't want/need to know everything we have to do to ensure their safety and security. War is an ugly, nasty action but has to be done against ugly, nasty enemies. You can't act superior in visible weakness. We have leaders that have NO military experience, that think that we can talk barbarians into the 21st century. Our leaders should tell the American citizen what they want to hear and then do the ugly things necessary to win. Social media is the bane of success. The reason for classified material is to protect secrets necessary to national security. When you have a supposed leader that is careless or disregards proper safety procedures in securing classified information, then how can you possibly win against those that are driven to destroy our great nation, that they are so jealous of? In the real world, you can't have "no fire" zones in war. We need to learn a lesson or two from the Israelis. Our civilian leaders should listen to our experienced military veterans. Pacifist civilians have their security, courtesy of the military. Quit trying to tell them how to do their job. Give them a mission and let them do it with no limitations. Collateral damage is the fault of the enemy, not us. When the liberal media squawks, tell them to shut up and enjoy the fruits or our success, instead of crying about how we went about saving their plush lifestyle.
Just the way I see it. I have yet to see an instance where a liberal idea gained any respect of from our enemies. So, liberals sit back and enjoy your right to cry about equality while you kill babies, and let the soldiers kill the enemy to secure your freedom to political correctness.

Add to your list of concerns:
Why is Obama so obsessed with not impeding radical islamic terrorism?

Why is there no accounting for Obama's commitment A YEAR AGO to disrupt then destroy ISIS?

What we have heard from the military is at best we are stalemated with an ISIS that is multiple thousands more stronger, using billions of dollars worth of abandoned US equipment.

How could that be without an outcry of anger from we the people....allies?

Our allies have observed us getting weaker and have given up hope.

Most important thread on this forum. When you compare it to the others, you realize how insignificant many of them are - after all, what could be more important than our survival? Thanks, OP, for starting this thread. I only wish our news media would keep these issues that you speak of front and center. People in our country need to wake up to what the real threats are to our freedom and existence before it is too late!!

Nice to hear that about the thread; mostly I get negative reviews. ☺️

Problem is this...it IS a political forum, but is used for current events, but I think some feel so secure and cozy, the understanding of what could occur is not in their world.

Before WW1 and WW2 and Korea, and Vietnam....this country felt secure for one big reason. Our location; in those days it would be next to impossible to reach our land so in both world wars, with that security blanket we simply dawdled before we got involved.

I am in no way comparing the situation other than our blasé attitude.

Today, the world is smaller, we have pourous borders, weaponry is much more sophisticated and we have lost that advantage to progress.

There is no country or group that wants to conquer. Worse, those we watch closely simply want to kill us. Killing even one American is a victory; they want massive casualties. They also, since 1948 are figuring ways to destroy a country they do not even recognize...Israel.

Of course, I am not at the center of intelligence, but the "chatter" as they refer to it is growing. I think in the last two weeks, a significant member of our intelligence has warned about large attacks.

Again, none of us are privy, but knowing this and seeing Iran already begin to flaunt disrespect for any rule or law, and seeing what this new deal will bring, and there will be a deal.

We then maximize, even without nukes, the ability for Iran or one of the sponsored groups to have access to ICBMs from Russia, a ton of cash, reduced sanctions, and most importantly still a vocal hatred for the USA and Israel, and ramp up the pressure on our security folks, who have no idea of what secret deal has been made with the group we are entrusting with those inspections we brag about.

Meanwhile, here at home, our President likens anyone who speaks against this deal as just like them, he basically said anyone who opposes this deal is a liar or stupid. He has enlisted POLITICAL ACTIVIST GROUPS to pressure people to vote...not to vote their conscience but to bow to pressure from activist groups.

This entire thing bothers me. I hope I am wrong but the set up here is a bit scary.

I agree with you...how we allow ourselves to be trapped into what Trump said recently or any of much of the conversations and ignore this subject is troubling to me.

I am however not surprised. I started a thread a few years ago on the gassing of children in the streets and got exactly NO replies. The President drew a red line and was cheered. They crossed it...I began another thread and got, I think one response. Today look at Syria and tell me a way out of that place. We ruined Libya and Yemen...we still call Yemen a success story and simply ignore Libya. Don't know if anyone read as a result of our actions how many thousands of Libyian refugees have died and will continue to die.

I hate war, will never speak for war, but there was a post on here recently that mentioned our allies in the ME are giving up on us. We recently blocked our Allies from bombing in the region.

Anyway, it bothers me and while I realize the political tweets posted here and the polls are important, I find this as important.
