We have had so much fun with The Never Ending Story that I thought we might write a musical.
I don't have a plot in mind, but I do have a couple of characters and the actors who should play them. How about Chelsea singing "The Cockeyed Optimist" from South Pacific, Two choirs, one the POA who enter stage left with some kind of "Sturm und Drang" music from Wagner, or......"Night on Bald Mountain" I just can't seem to think WHO should play the part of our LOTHARIO, can you? ;)
Help me here.
Once upon a time in a land far away was a beautiful woman named Chelsea who always saw things in a positive light.............Chelsea enter singing.....The Cockeyed Optimist. Chelsea had many friends who lived with her in ................................

I feel stupid. I started out with some classical stuff but Puh-leeze don't stay with that stuff.
Anybody?

Personally I love the idea....but perhaps we should do something a long the lines of "Mamma Mia"...using music from the 50's 60's and 70's.
Personally....I would love to sing the song from Helen Readdy...."Peaceful". Most of the words are the perfect way I feel when I am here.....
Perhaps everyone can come up with a song that shares their feelings about TV's....then we could turn them into the musical...
Thoughts?

It would be perfect!!! I am not kidding....let's do it!!

Chelsea enters singing to down-low twangy music behind her "Oh, I've got friends in low places . . . "
And segways into "Let's giv'em somthin' to talk about, a little mystery to figure out', Let's giv'em somethin' to talk about, how about love, Love, LOVE!"

Oh GG, we can make a fortune. Chels can join also when she hits that really high note.
My children have told me not to sing to them. :'( :'( I even memorized songs to sing to them.
If we sing I am hoping people will give us money not to sing. ;D

So you're a little bit older and a lot less bolder
Than you used to be
So you used to shake 'em down
But now you stop and think about your dignity
So now sweet sixteens turned fifty-one
You get to feelin' weary when the work days done
Well all you got to do is get up and into your kicks
If you're in a fix
Come back baby
Rock and roll never forgets
You better get yourself a partner
Go down to the concert or the local bar
Check the local newspapers
Chances are you won't have to go too far
Yeah the rafters will be ringing cause the beat's so strong
The crowd will be swaying and singing along
And all you got to do is get in into the mix
If you need a fix
Come back baby
Rock and roll never forgets

You'll be swell! You'll be great!
Gonna have the whole world on the plate!
Starting here, starting now,
honey, everything's coming up roses!
Clear the decks! Clear the tracks!
You've got nothing to do but relax.
Blow a kiss. Take a bow.
Honey, everything's coming up roses!
Now's your inning. Stand the world on it's ear!
Set it spinning! That'll be just the beginning!
Curtain up! Light the lights!
You got nothing to hit but the heights!
You'll be swell. You'll be great.
I can tell. Just you wait.
That lucky star I talk about is due!
Honey, everything's coming up roses for me and for you!

From the original subject/title of this thread, my wife has said that The Monkey's song "Pleasant Valley Sunday" reminds her of TV.
In a thread, earlier, about how to describe the sweet, colored, fruit flavored refreshment that so many of us claim to have imbibed when we visited TV, I posted a video of Merle Haggard singing "Rainbow Stew".
When we hear these songs, we think of TV. The words don't even need to be changed.

Rockinronda:
How about modifying the lyrics for "Crazy" by Patsy Cline.. Instead of talking about a person subsitute TV.
When I am in TV, I could listen to this song a hundred times and still love it.
I'm crazy about TV.

I know I will probably be in for some flak, but there is a song that jumps into my head once in a while when the houses in the Villages start seeming to look quite a bit alike.
I know this is a much deeper song though about conformity, consumerism, materialism, etc.:
