Can anyone recommend a stylist/colorist in the Lake/Sumter/Marion County area who specializes in Goldwell color and styling thin or fine hair? I'm not looking for a "wash and go" stylist.

Any one of the hair stylists at Tuscany Day Spa and Salon in Lake Sumter Landing......ask for Helen (usually very booked far in advance).

You can go on the Goldwell salon finder site, type in your address and it will show you salons within distance that are committed to buying and trained in using Goldwell products.
(which is a great line, by the way.)

That is a good start.

Bella sells Goldwell (in addition to many other lines). I found their pricing much higher than than the salon I went to before I moved here. I don't know if they use Goldwell color. I would doubt it. I think you probably have to go to a salon closer to Orlando.

Just wondering why everyone likes Goldwell. Also wondering what products do not fade so much. The first 3 weeks are fine but then my color fades. Any suggestions?

As a former cosmetologist I hear many women complain about color fading, the #1 thing you can do to prevent fading is cover your head in the sun and if you swim wear a cap and wet your hair with tap water then put your cap on. Also use a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. Deep condition for at least 10 minutes- I do it once a week.
I go to Salon Jaylee on 466 and really like the products they use, they don't use Goldwell, if you ask for a color specialist they can refer you to the right person. The person who does my color (which is low lights, leaving the gray as my highlights) is booked out for months, but I have watched all the operators and they are all good. They are up on new techniques, products, go through continuing education supported my the management. Being in the industry I am very watchful and particular with whom I go to and what they use, Salon Jaylee can be expensive, but I believe you get what you pay for and I get compliments on my hair from strangers almost daily. And no, I have no affiliation with the salon, just my opinion as I have been to many salons around TV and found them to be the best for my style and color.

What is a ballpark cost of a cut and color at Salon Jaylee?

Highly recommend Tracey Ethridge at Tuscany! I go every four weeks for cut & color. Also for occasional highlights.

Salon Jaylee has tiered pricing depending on level of Stylist, usually going to run at least $75 and up, you should call and request a quote.
