From my wife's IT Department:

Security Alert: Free Windows 10 Upgrade Scam

What is happening?
There is a widespread scam circulating right now that involves an email offering a free upgrade to Windows 10. The scam email is designed to look like an official email from Microsoft and originates from an address that appears to be from Microsoft.

If you get an email with this offer, delete it and do not click on any links in the message or download any attachments. The links take you to a site that will download the CryptoWall malware onto your computer and the attachment contains the Cryptowall malware disguised as a Windows installer file.

If this malware infects your device, it will encrypt all of the files locally stored on your device.

Just wanted to let everyone know "to be careful out there"!

My own experience with Win10 is VERY POSITIVE, faster load, browsing and pretty easy to use. Also my battery consumption has been less on my laptop.

It's really kind of a hybrid between WIN 7 & 8.

Certainly has sped up access on this site!

If you are using a Win 8 system you will get a pop up message on your computer from Microsoft offering you the upgrade. Stay away from any e-mail offers.

As with almost anything emailed to me that is free or to upgrade or correct or prevent a problem goes right in the trash can and deleted.
