I will be moving down in Oct sometime. I see folks saying they have put over 30,000 miles on their carts. At what point does the engine wear out and are they rebuilt or new motors installed? How many miles will they go?

If a cart is taken care of properly and not abused it's not unusual to go over 30k.
But I have seen carts trashed at 15k.

Thanks Frank, what oil change interval do you reccomend for extended life?

Follow-up question. What does it cost (approximately) to replace an engine? Yamaha, gas for instance.

Curious...approximately how much does it cost to replace an engine in a Yamaha gas cart?

What is oil change interval and is synthetic oil used?

Normal use once a year, heavy use six to eight months.
Synthetic oil ok but not needed.

The owners manual for my Yamaha EFI cart recommends oil changes every 1250 miles. This works out to about every 4 months for us based on about 4000 miles per year. Would you consider this heavy use or do you see folks putting more miles per year on their carts? How often would you recommend changing the differential fluid? Thanks.

We are recommending oil changes at 200 hrs of use, some carts do that in six months and some do not cover that in a year. The response is based on 20 MPH normal use, if pushing
The cart at higher speeds adjust oil change intervals by color and oil level.
The same goes for differential oil changes, if you are a heave brake user your changing time intervals are set best. by preventative maintenance inspections.
