I signed an annual contract for lawn treatments and plants on two properties for a year. I have had nothing but problems with one of the properties. They have managers come by and talk about the problem and how they are going to fix it but it just does not happen. They seem very confused as a company and I have to call them to get anything done. I am thinking of going to Deans for one of the properties for the remainder of the year. Anyone having problems with ServiceSmart and how is Dean's?

There have been many postings about Service Smart and lack of performance. I would never pay in advance for service. They have your money in the bank, now they do as little as possible, the managers confusion confirms that. A good lawn company should be able to diagnois and correct any problem. They are required by state law through the agricultural dept. to have yearly certification for their technicians, and attend a set number of credit classes.

The contract could be voided out for non performance. Document your calls and take pictures and go to small claims court instead of walking away and letting them keep your money.

Personally, I don't like one service does it all. I really prefer one company for handling chemicals, another for lawn and landscaping cutting, weeding and trimming. From what I've seen, one or the other side just doesn't cut the mustard in a one-shop company. That being said, ServiceSmart is just dismal at its best. Dean's does a pretty good job most of the time.

I just fired Service Smart for failure to perform. I have been fighting with them to get my money back. They appear to ignore requests and demands. They have a D- rating with the BBB. I just files with seniors vs crime to see if they will get a fire lit under their $$$

Good move, but don't count on it helping. They (the owners) would have to care before it would do any good. The Kenny Smith (family/owners) could give a rip about what others think of them or their businesses. When their business goes under they'll just open under another name. EX: "Once a Year, "'Service Champions of Florida'" "Service Smart" and "Stellar Residential" under the son-in-laws name.

The Attorney General should do something.

Go to their office IN PERSON and don't leave until you have a refund. Worked for me! Service Smart is horrific!!!!!

Unfortunately some people do this. Change the company name and use a different relative as the listed owner but tecnically the same business. I used to do business with a family like that years ago, three name changes and 7 office moves in 3 years.

Personally, I think the name of their company is an oxymoron...they neither live up to good consistent service and they are DEFINITELY are not smart when it comes to doing business. We live in a neighborhood that has three homes in a row that uses this service and the workers show up on three different days!! And not consistently either...it's a constant battle.

I just got the shaft by service smart after 4 weeks with pre paid contract....Called visa and they immediately credited my account and will charge back service smart....they are a very unethical company....
