Low water on the Danube

We were ready to set sail from Budapest to Amsterdam. We got a call three days before leaving, that our trip was cancelled. Not enough water in the Danube. Something to consider when planning a river cruise in Europe. I guess they're going through a dry summer. I don't know what the best time of year is for cruising the rivers.

We have cruised the Rhine in April and the Danube in September on Viking. They were awesome!

We know two couples that went on separate trips that included days on the Danube River. Both couples said the Danube portion of the trip was cancelled. They told us there was a lot of upset people on the trip that demanded refunds!

We were just on the Danube in June. It was fine. Two years ago, the Danube was flooded in June. So you can't really predict.
