The haves.
The have nots.
And in recent years the emergence and independent group of the political class.

The last class being the most detrimental to us all as they maintain survivability and provide courses of action that ONLY represent themselves and their positions.
Representing we the people has beome a notion of the past.

Independents are simply just those voters that are too embarrassed to choose a side or those that don't want anyone to know which side they chose. I know someone that is registered Independent but has always voted Republican. He argues against both side's policies.

In my opinion, Independents prefer to let everyone else do the work and make decisions, and then that way they can criticize and sling mud without getting any on themselves. The Independent that I spoke of can't even vote in the primaries, so all he does is limit his participation in the election process. No matter what party you belong to, when you enter the general election voting booth, you can choose to vote as you wish, for any party. So, saying that being an Independent is more open minded or more flexible is just fooling yourself.

As far as the haves and have nots are concerned, the haves, have the liberty and financial security to choose any ideology they wish. The have nots are easily bought by the highest bidder, with no regard to morals or ethics. They can't afford the freedom of choice when voting. It takes a strong fortitude to choose to vote for your country versus selling your soul to the devil for a few scraps off the gov's table.

I was not very clear in my outlining of the classes.
The last one was to be the "political class" not the independents.

Those who we elect to be our representives and by their actions do not represent we the people. They act "independent" of the wishes of the people. It is the very reason business in Washington has become so partisan.

They DO NOT do what they were elected to do....represent the will of the people.

And we the people allow it to continue, hence we get what we deserve....not much!
