My husband and I will be taking a trip to Gainesville and would like to go to a good restaurant. It doesn't have to be fancy, but the food has to be great!! Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

Francesca's Trattoria, 4410 NW 25th Pl, Gainesville, FL 32606-6563, 352-378-7152 is a very good Northern Italian we go to frequently including Valentine's Day and other special occasions. They have a website to check out the menu and also have nightly specials. Be aware it is not on a main road and you may think you have missed it, so look carefully once you think you are at the correct location. It is a stand-alone building on a cul-de-sac.

Off the beatin' path..Satchel's Pizza..on 1800 NE 23 Ave. Not your typical food joint, but the food is outstanding.

Amelia's. You won't be disappointed!
We love Saboeé Restaurant in the Tioga Town Center towards Newberry.
The Villages Gourmet Club website (http://thevillagesgourmetclub.com/search.html) has many restaurants listed for Alachua County.
Great city for food and culture.
