Now how many people see the sign Old Dixie Highway and think it is a racist reminder?
None until this stupid black mayor who is trying for his 12.674645 seconds of fame by kissing the racist in chief's butt.
At some point those of us who are sick and tired of the minority numbers especially by black racists, will rise and demonstrate that enough is enough.

Wow, had to get desperate to make this an issue.
The city involved in Riviera Beach Florida. It has a whopping population of around 33,000 people, mostly African American. For this mayor to get his 12 seconds of fame, he managed to get his name placed, hold on, in the prestigious "Washington Times", AKA the "mooney" newspaper.
So what we have is another TOTV poster with too little to do, trolling the bottom of the media barrel for some nonsense and then with excitement posting on this site.
Be sure to slowly read the OP's 3 sentences and decide who is really a racist. It's not that hard to discern.

Nice try (poorly done) at trying to shift the subject.
We all know you got the point but as usual take the contrarian approach and attack the poster.
So read this as carefully as you chide in your laborious post....
go take a flying :censored: on a rolling donit!

Maybe poster number 2 did miss the point in the ready, fire and aim approach.....as usual.

Once the next elections are history things will get back to normal, if possible. Even if we were unfortunate to get Hilary (heaven help us) the minority issue will go back to normal. She doesn't care about anyone but herself, so issues with minorities, ie. black, Latin, women, gays, etc, will be shoved aside. Probably the only good thing that might be said of her. But, right now minorities of any sect have a platform and mic. It's temporary until the next election. Most of what we are hearing right now is a very small group(s) making a lot of noise because they can. They are "tolerated" right now, because of the racist in the White House, but that tolerance will expire once he vacates D.C. Some folks will not be happy until everyone is knocked down to their low level of misery. Unwilling to pull themselves up to a level of satisfaction and happiness, the miserable want company at the bottom. Essentially, they are just proving to everyone that they refuse to work for a better lifestyle. No one is being "kept" down. They have NO excuse now, so they want to rewrite the past. The past is the past, regardless of how one perceives it. Most miserable people have themselves to blame for their unhappiness, not others. No one is holding them back.
If reminders of the civil war happen to be offensive to someone, then get over it. The Civil war happened. They should be grateful and want to be reminded of that aspect of history. Maybe someone else is offended by Black history month, Black TV, Black Miss America pageant, and faux African flags. Maybe some are offended by Cinco de mayo, Latin Week and Latin TV, or even "push 2 for espaniol." We live with it. Tell me why it is assumed that whites be PC and tolerant, over other folks. Why is it that whites are required to be tolerant of violations of their religion, tolerant of gays (but not the other way around) and immigration violations. Is it presumed solely because they ARE tolerant?
Americans will only be pushed so much before they become intolerant. I never gave the confederate battle flag much thought before demands that it be removed from memory. Now, I see bumper stickers and flags all over the place. Probably some of them being displayed by folks that don't appreciate being told that they can't do something in America that also never gave it a thought before. Now, idiots want to remove names and statues from public spaces? What's next, ban them from private property? You can't erase history, no matter how you hide the reminders. How about we just hide all reminders of slavery? Forget about it, it didn't happen. Hide reminders of the holocaust. It didn't happen. We lost as many Americans in the battle of Gettysburg as we did in the Vietnam war. That's a tragedy. Do we want to forget about it?
Folks need to calm down and take into consideration who the activists are and what their real motive is. Americans are good and tolerant people until pushed too far. Tolerance will only go so far. We may not condone something but we tolerate it. Don't push us past the tolerant stage or you may not like the majority once they shake off their complacency and decide that enough is enough. Don't mistake our silent tolerance with us condoning.

What's next, reparations?

What's next, reparations?
Not sure if you were being sarcastic but reparations are not something new or out of the question.
First, I suggest many government programs such as quote systems in hiring and/or even a quota for interviewing is a form of reparations.
But, it is discussed.....here are a few recent discussions concerning this subject, and remember in Chicago...well, here is an reference to what is happening...
"The city of Chicago is proposing a $5.5 million reparations package for those who suffered under the ruthless rule of police commander Jon Burge from 1972 to 1991. Backed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the plan would supply victims with free college tuition, counseling for drug abuse and psychological issues, and include a formal apology from the city, according to the Chicago Tribune."

The link below is a discussion from the NY Times concerning what you are bringing up....

I've been digging into my family genealogy to see if I can find some minute amount of black blood in our family ancestry. It's good to be ready, just in case someone is stupid enough to grant it. Might as well cash in on a gov freebie for a change.

Hey, if the head of the NAACP can claim that she is black, so can you. If Bruce can be Caitlyn then anyone can claim to be whatever or whoever they wish. Just money in the pocket.

According to the local news, a Florida legislator is proposing that confederate flags be removed from all government property, state, local and county. Most state sites have already done this, but some local municipalities, like Ocala, still fly the flag. This bill will not be debated until the next legislative session starting in January.

NOW all we need are black movements and black leaders that are founded in truth and maybe we make progress.
I have no problem with the removal of the confederate flag, although it is not all about race with many people, but I DO have a problem with the groups that are founded based on LIES and do nothing but drive the divide wider.

Booker T. Washington said:
“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”

He also said:
“I am afraid that there is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public.

Booker T. Washington has the current flock of racists starting with the Obama's, the Sharptons and the Jacksons nailed to a 'T'.
