I had a very unfortunate experience at this store and I want to alert other patrons to their practices and quality of their products. First of all, it is a woman's store that has some nice things, usually of a good quality and in up to date styles. It is posted that money for returned products will not be given, but rather a store credit.

Early in July I purchased two pair of the knee length stretch shorts in similar colors. When I washed them I followed instructions to turn them inside out, after drying them I saw some lines in the fabric on one pair, turned them right side out and saw nothing so I was not worried. The next time I washed them it was the same, but when I turned them right side out the lines showed on one pair.

On July 14th I went to the store and spoke with the sales manager, she immediately assumed I had used bleach on them. I assured her that I had not and guaranteed that I did not want my money back, but rather I would like a replacement pair, in a different color, and she could return the faulty pair back to the manufacturer as perhaps it was the fabric of this short. She said that would be impossible, but the owner of the store would be in touch.

Today is August 20th and I have heard nothing. Not only was I treated discourteously by the "manager" whom by inference accused me of lying, but the letter I wrote to the owner has been ignored.

I know I will never see another pair of shorts, or a refund, or a letter acknowledging my letter, so my purpose in writing this is to warn other women who may shop at this store. If a store has a product that is inferior then it should be replaced, what happened to "the customer is always right"?

Anyway you can be sure I will not be shopping in this store again and that I will publically and personally tell all who wish to listen about the lack of integrity that some of our store owners have.

All done venting, Donna

Donna, The lack of customer service and courtesy in your experience would keep me from shopping there. My consumer dollars need to provide me with the wearability/washability that a clothing article promises. I don't read garment labels for entertainment and don't buy disposible clothing and expect store management to be my advocate in the event of quality failure. Wouldn't it be nice if they would rethink their position in your situation?

You can count me as one of their non shoppers.

Donna, Thanks for the tip. I will keep MrsSteveFromNY out of there!

And soon it will be gone....like the other places that aren't providing service and quality merchandise.

Steve. I completely agree.

Have you noticed that with our experience and wisdom and age that we can now walk into a new business and almost at once tell if they are going to make it or not?

I discovered a long time ago that if a store has a policy of no refunds, the odds are the customer service will be sorely lacking. Thus, I refuse to shop in them. To me, there is a certain arrogance in the general attitude of no refunds -- smacks of "buyer beware" to me.

So, how long has this store been in business and should we start a pool as to long it will last?

Thank you for your support in this matter and trust me I am learning, the hard way, but learning anyway...Donna

Donna C...... what about your store credit ? I hope you stand firm and request the store credit so you can choose something else of equal value - at least !!

This type of poor customer service reminds me of Miami-Dade County, and one of the zillion reasons why I left there ::)
