Home is sold in MN! Close Sept 30 and then about a month of winding down work. Will be living in Labelle area in villa owned by friends while we look. Have warmed up to the Pine Ridge Area now that I understand the tax bond amenities better. A villa could also work but garages for the popular Charlotte seem just too small. Any opinions on garage size appreciated.
With the stock market in the tank I may be the dumbest person on earth for leaving a good career but see too many health problems around us, so we are coming. Hope to meet many of you soon.

Phil and Elaine:

Welcome to TV! MikeV and lake5897 make good points as most of the folks do. TOTV is a great resource. My wife and I are just about 9 days away from arriving in TV on our permanent move. We are sooooo excited to finally relocate and have used TOTV extensively to address our many questions. :coolsmiley:

The size of the garage depends on what you own. What you own depends on what you need.

You'd be surprised how little you really need. I'd be willing to bet more people down here regret bringing too much compared to those with opposite opinions.

TOTV is a great resource and we are on each day. As far as garage we have a mid size Suv and of course will get a golf cart. Judging the size garage by what we do here. Unjust don't want it to be tight but the budget will make final decision. Hope to meet Every one of you that continue to offer advice so freely. Thanks all.

I like the Charlotte model too but, the garage is way too small!

Mom, my aunt and I rented a home with a garage over a foot bigger than the Charlotte garage and it took three of us to get my Flex and a golf cart in the garage! Mom was watching one side, my aunt the other and I was driving. I need a larger vehicle as we drive back and forth from Michigan to TV and I always have two walkers in my vehicle!

The Arlington's garage is a little bigger and it has an inside laundry. I also like the Wyndham model but the laundry is in the garage.

In full disclosure, Mom and I own a home in the Village of Charlotte (an Iris) but we rent it in a long-term rental program. So, we have to rent a home when we visit TV. But, I still love to look at floor plans and ways they could tweak them. I'm still hoping I can talk my mother and my aunt into becoming the "Golden Girls" and move to our Iris in TV! So far, nothing has worked!

Sabel, yes the Arlington would work and perfection is the anehiem but $$$$$ become involved. We will see what is in the market in about 2 months. We have a Mercedes ML because I like diesel but it may be too large with a cart, but it is similar to your Flex which is a great car! I have read your description of the space before and appreciate you sharing it, it helps!

We sold a villa in Creekside Landing that we owned for 4 years and bought a villa next to Brownwood because of the garage size. I was going to remodel the Creekside villa but there is no way to make the garage bigger. The Brownwood Antrim Dells units had 2 car garages so we bought a new villa.

Buy a home with a 1 1/2 car garage, (fits car and golf cart).

Some of the newer homes have a separate golf cart garage.

Congrats. Best wishes as you start living the dream.
