I receive DAILY emails in regards to the water here at the Villages -
VCDD e-Notification: Precautionary Boil Water Notices due to BACTERIA in the water - Village Center Service Area
I have been receiving these notices since May - I have bottled water for drinking and cooking - but I have a BIG concern on using the tap water for showering and brushing my teeth with all these "Precautionary Boil Water Notices" Does anyone have an insight onto what is going on??? Am I over reacting??

I am on the list to receive these notices and to say they are frequent or daily is a gross exaggeration.
I believe that this is another exaggerating negative post. I challenge you to send us the daily links you have received this week, OP.
They only send them as a "boil water notice" when a line has been broken and they give the vicinity and street of the break.

I am going to act a peace keeper. OP see if you can double check which areas (VCDD) you have signed up for. I took a look at the site, and I have been signed up for over a year, and have never received a notice yet (VCDD 9). I have seen some recent news about some water problems, so if you were accidently signed up for several or all VCDDs this might explain the large number of notices. There are a lot of options on the site for notices. I would suggest going in, check to boxes you really want notices and see what happens, please let us know the results.

Is there not a lot of water main work going on in TV now? Any one of those projects is likely cause for a notice to be sent out. Between that work, routine maintenance and the unexpected, am not surprised that the OP gets those emails.

offensive or overbearing about them. The fact that you went to that website and signed up for notices for all the areas and not just your own is your own fault and getting upset at someone who tries nicely to point you in the right direction is...well frankly....wrong...especially since you were wrong and overreacting due to your own mistake....clearly not someone who likes to be corrected...hopefully you'll get over it as I'm sure there's a nice responsible bone in your body...

I can vouch for the first poster saying these Precautionary Water Boil Notices come too often. Not daily, but too often.
I get probably one per week, and I think that frequency would be cause for concern if my street or nearby ones had been affected, but they haven't been.
I just erase them and pay no attention once I see the addresses affected, but I can see why somebody getting them multiple times per week would be concerned like the first poster is.
This is the only utility notice I signed up for (not various regions of TV as somebody suggested above), in addition to street closures, job openings and rec center closings (lots of pool closures come):

I think everyone needs to remember the pitfall of sitting behind a keyboard anonymously and posting rude/insensitive/derogatory comments that one would never say to a person's face. GG is very exuberant about defending TV and TOTV, and she can back up her posts with links to that information. She has helped guide hundreds of "newbies" on all aspects of life in TV, and after 25,000 posts I think she has some idea of what she is saying; she has been an invaluable asset to TOTV and TV. I think a personal attack of this nature, especially from a member with limited experience was totally uncalled for. The idea of any forum is the free exchange of ideas, information and opinions, not an opportunity to vent rude and boorish comments.

Boil water notices are no big deal. Whether they are here in TV or back home. Simply unsubscribe from these email notifications if they bother you. If you are ever affected by a boil water notice you will be notified. Move on and enjoy life.

You need to find out if the boil notices are for you or if you are also getting the boil notices for 55,000 houses that are also in The Villages. Maybe you signed up for more information that is not your concern.

That's the people to ask. I think others in this thread gave the same advice.
What I have found is that when I am confused, no matter who I called, when I tell them that I appreciate them taking the extra time and I know working with seniors is not easy, everyone has assured me that they will help me and not to worry. Everyone has been very respectful to me down here.

Seems to me that you were asking a honest question and not putting TV down. The last two sentences reflect a humbleness that seems to have been over looked by some posters.
Being challenged the way you were is something that would have put me on the defensive. I do hope you at least got some info that was helpful for all the trouble you've gone through.

I have to agree with POINTER. The OP simply posed a help question and her veracity was challenged. While hoping not to come across as being judgmental my preference would have been to contact the originator of the e-mail.

Nothing at all wrong with the OPs original question. It's what the exchange deteriorated into that lacked some decorum.
