How many participate in other forums?
Are they as active as TOTV?
Sort of like the comment when you order on line that says....customers who ordered X also bought Y, Z & K.......
maybe those who participate in TOTV would be interested in _ _ _ (name the forum).
Just to name a couple of mine:
The Corvette Forum (for obvious reasons): http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zeroforum?id=53
The Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) for those of us who are not only shooting enthusiasts but do it the cowboy way: http://www.sassnet.com/
How about others....I know some may view this as impinging upon privacy....but it's not....face value intended only....people with common interests (sometimes! :joke:) sharing with others....that's all.

I own a parenting forum and am very active in it although my daughter is now an adult. I belong to two bridge forums -- one of which I used to moderate. Not very active in either but I do read each of them at least once a week.

I use Internet Movie Database sometimes to make comments on movies like Tropic Thunder http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0942385/usercomments?filter=hate
None of these comments are mine though. If other TOTVers have a problem with Tropic Thunder or some other movie, register on imbd.com and make some comments. http://www.imdb.com/register/?why=personalize
It is also fun to praise some movie you really like.
You can also sometimes find actors and actresses who also make comments on what they are doing on imbd.com's message boards. Here's a link to the message board from Tropic Thunder http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0942385/board.

One of my most favorite and most informative sites for anyone considering relocation is
city-data.com
and click on FORUMS. Not only are there forums on every city in the country, there are many forums on general topics as well, and newly created blogs. All-in-all, the site is extremely helpful. That's where I found out about TOTV, someone mentioned it in response to my inquiry about The Villages, Florida ;D

NOPE this is it. If there were more forums, I would get nothing done.

Rhonda, sent you a pm. For personal reasons and to protect the parents there, it is not a site I mention on other forums.

In deference to my copious free time (ha!) stemming in large part from HB's travel agent work (imagine, most recently, Hawaii as work!), our volunteer community involvements up north, and babysitting our youngest son Craig's 'Spoiled Rotten-weiler' Quixote, it's only TOTV and, occasionally, the forums on Apple Computer.

Red, how do people find the forum? Parenting skills are in high demand. As Grandparents we could help get your forum very noticed.

There is another SMALLER forum that is somewhat local.....it does have a subforum for The Villages. It is run by a real nice guy named mike Kelley who is from The Legacy in Leesburg.
His website is www.kelleytown.com From there you can click on the forum, it is a FLORIDA RETIREMENT forum. It has been quite helpful.
I am also a moderator on www.city-data.com, in the Florida section.
I also enjoy an outdoor power equipment forum called www.opeonthenet.com
For golf carts, there is an awesome forum, here it is;
http://server1.buggiesunlimited.com/phpBB2/index.php?sid=da794b123a5ece8e4999557711012c91
For sprinklers here is a great, helpful forum;
http://www.sprinklertalk.com/
hope this helps......there are forums for EVERYTHING.

We have local forums in our county which I participate in every day. They get pretty heated and personally insulting sometimes.
I also read cruise and fish pond forums.
Of course, I'm here on TOTV several times a day - dreaming, dreaming, dreaming.

Of the ones I listed, city-data is the only one that even needs Mod intervention.
It can sometimes become very negative. From this, I have learned the many opinions Floridians have of their state. Many people who post on C-D are those upset at the poor job outlook, and those with real estate problems now that the bubble broke.
Those of us who have invested well, and are looking at Florida as a good place to retire to have a much more positive outlook.
That is one reason I enjoy forums like this much more.
