My grandma Helen D., passed about 6 weeks shy of her 100th Birthday yesterday up in a Cape Cod nursing home. Her big desire was to reach 100 but she had been in a coma like state for the past few weeks. Her daughter told her that she had made it to 100 and she passed a few hours after that.

No trip to Cape Cod though at least not for this as she did not want a Memorial service.

She passed as we were celebrating my dog Beau's 3rd BD. I do not know what it is with me and birthdays as so many unforgettable things have happened on these.

My grandma Helen never made it to the Villages as she was very much in love with the shore of the Atlantic Ocean on the Cape. Not being on or in it but just the sight and sound of it.

Thanks. Helen was a little difficult in personality but she will be missed.

My sympathies on your loss. 99 years is a long life. Oh the changes she saw in those years! May she rest in peace.

That's a great looking photo of her. She looks as though she could have been a movie actress.
