TOTV site down??!!

When I got home last night about 11:30 from dancing, dancing, dancing, :hot: I tried to log on to TOTV. Nothing, Nada, Zilch.. :dontknow: ..I panicked. :yikes: Were they upgrading the site? Was I hacked? :o Was I BANNED?? :realmad: Tried the other computer, Nothing as well. :dontknow: So, what happened?? If there was an upgrade, wouldn't the administration tell us? DID WE OVERLOAD THE CIRCUITS??!!! Very happy I am here posting again!! wheww!

I had the same experience Ronda. Kept trying to get back on and nothing!!! ...and I had "Such Important" things to say. tch tch tch. What did happen I don't know, but glad it wasn't just my computer.

Now this may be a worse thing and I really am actually serious here for a minute. I just logged backed in to TOTV. I was on a short while ago and was reading Tal's "Sandwich's you will like" thread. I clicked on his Wikapedia link read it, no problem.
I went back to the thread and clicked on Shirlevee's link, and my computer immediately shut down.

It came back up, obviously, cause I am here, but when it did, it took me to a Microsoft website that said this....

This type of error means the computer has shut down abruptly to protect itself from potential data corruption or loss. In this case, we were unable to detect the specific device or driver that caused the problem.

Admin's might want to check this out. I have Comcast with lots of virus protection and firewalls in place. My computer is scanning as I write to make sure it is okay.

Curious that this happened today and last night we were shut out or maybe better said...the site was shut down. Curious.

TOTV=UN-EXPLAINABLE. TV=UNEXPLAINABLE. I know...... I keep trying to explain both to the friends I do know as in REALLY KNOW and most of them start backing up and get kind of a vacant look in their eyes.... :dontknow:

Ronda, Great minds must work together. I also wondered if I had said something that got me "sent to my room"!! Oooooo...we must have some inner guilt. I figured it was all the preggers talk and chels having pups that did us in. 1rnfl :duck:

Gracie I can totally relate. My local friends are sure I have gone over to the dark side.

Luckily I have met in person and now have personal relationships with several of our posters, relationships that have only gotten stronger with time.

Moving to TV (the sooner the better, thank you very much) will be like finally coming "home".

I look forward to adding others into the "real people" mix when we get there.

Shutting down TOTV requires advanced notice for some of us so we can increase our Psych appt's for that week.

Gracie, I sure can relate to that far away non believing look from people you tell about TV.

Last night my Lake neighbors were feeling kindof grumpy so I told them to move to The villages and you will never be grumpy again, They just gave me that vacant look and said " oh Ill bet people are just a crabby down there, you just havant run into them yet. With that I decided to shut up, I knew it was a no win conversatipn. just another couple that thinks I have lost my mind! ::)

I had just returned home from an evening with people I could actually see and decided to come in here and see what was going on. I then decided to add to a healthcare rant I had done earlier. I lost everything. I kept trying to get back in. Tried about 4 times. Gave up and went to bed. Found all was well this morning. But I really thought it was all because of my recently coffee saturated keyboard with the now sticking keys. (Does anybody remember those silly "coffee achievers" commercials from long ago? Or did I dream those?)

A couple of questions about last nights shut down. Could there possibly be a bad link with a potential virus or malicious software somewhere in the forum? Something shut the site down after 11PM, last night 8/23/08. Susan had the blue screen of death. Fortunately, her great security software fixed her problem. I also had the 'blue screen' a couple of months ago and had to spend approx. 8 continious hours to fix my problem. Thank goodness for safe mode, where I went to fix my blue screen. It took a lot of patience. I found malicious software. Malicious software that makes you think you need THEIR resolution for the 'blue screen of death' for only $69.95. Well sorry for going so off topic. I just wonder what happened, if you have a moment??!! THANKS for all YOU DO! :bigthumbsup:

Just checked back here today...hmmm you had the blue screen of death too? Very interesting. But I don't know the answer. Hope it never happens again.
