View Full Version : What are YOUR dreams for life in TV?

We bought in Hadley in April, closed in May and in two trips down since then have spent 19 days getting the house furnished and ready to enjoy. The last two days my husband played golf and we went to the pool and I had a small informal coffee for a few new friends. I also attended an art class at Colony Cottage.

I am hoping that in the future we will be able to invite over and be invited over by the great people who I have met here. I hope that we will soon have a regular card club to host and attend. (bridge or euchre) I am dreaming of continuing the painting classes. The one I did attend was SO nice and fun. I want to continue to play golf, walk more, learn to play bocceball, shuffleboard and maybe pickleball and maybe Mahjong. I want to cook for my new friends and have them enjoy our home in Hadley like they were in their own home, feeling free to get a beer or pour their own wine. I hope I have open, warm, crazy, loyal, dear friends there, (I already have some who are priceless) and hope someday to make TV our home year round.

How about you? What do you think about when you come down here to join up in Paradise? What are your hopes and dreams?

My immediate reaction is, of course, I'm going to go over and drop in on Graciegirl and Mr. Graciegirl right now! :joke:

Gracie, I think each of can attest to the fact that dreams really do come true. My dream is to live out my life with my soulmate by my side, surrounded by by wonderful friends. And that dream is coming true. The icing on the cake are all the fun activities and beautiful surroundings. It is like being at a glorious banquet!

hmmmm icing on cake, banquet . . . can you tell I'm hungry! ;D

Gracie, My dreams have been revised many times not my choice, but by necessity. So...now I wish for nothing more than to move to TV (full time hopefully), and to spend time with the many friends I make in TV, and to pray that my new friends will want to spend time with me.

I want to dance with my friends, perhaps learn to play cards (don't care what kind) ride my motorcycle, and find new adventures (belly dancing lessons?) :clap2: :clap2:

When I get to move there full-time I want to continue to be active- bike riding, golfing, walking, kayaking and perhaps going to the Gulf Coast to sail. I want to enjoy meeting people, share some laughs and enjoy my time on this earth (after all, nothing is guaranteed!). Most of all- I want to be able to retire my snowblower and shovel :)

I dream the U.S. Government will redesign its policies to allow Canadians and Brits to stay in TV longer than 183 days in a calendar year!

In the meantime, I'll be grateful for my six months in Paradise.

See y'all at GG's house.

My dreams are to watch those belly dancing lessons.

Seriously, just to enjoy the last half (quarter?) of my life with new friends and adventures. Oh yeah, and GOLF GOLF GOLF!

As wannabes mouse and I just want to sell our home and become permanent residents of TV, so we can enjoy all the wonderful and friendly people who live in TV, make a lot of new friends, and take part in all the fun activities TV has to offer.

Just like HB and Mouse my dream is to sell my house aand move to TV with Mr.Ouma and live out whatever time we have left having fun, taking classes, making new friends, and just being together in a wonderful place, a paradise. It may take a while but we will get there one day. And to my friend Barefoot, I too hope that one day soon, the US Government will see how pointless it is to only allow Canadians and Brits 183 a year in the States. You guys take nothing and give so much. Its just not right! Don't worry, when I'm in power all that will change.

I did not move to TV because I fell in love with it but because I was forced to move. Since moving here, it has come to hold a special place in my heart and I do love it here. So, now my goal is to get totally back on my feet financially (this may happen sooner than I thought). My dream is to keep the people I have come to treasure as friends, play bridge with fun partners, learn something new every day and keep finding something to smile about every day.

Our dream is be able to be active. We don't know anyone around us here that we could just call up on a weekday afternoon and say "hey, it beautiful outside. Let's go golfing!" Everyone we know is working. We know if we stay here that we will become couch potatoes, and that just isn't what we want. So we are making a giant change in our lives to stay active. (that is of course, once our house sells!)

My husband loves to play games. His favorite are: golf, basketball, volleyball, ping pong, softball, poker and cribbage. Heck, he'll play any kind of game. Just ask him!

My hobbies are: musical theatre, singing, choir, dance (tap and jazz), golf, softball, basketball, painting, scrapbooking, sewing and crochet.

Once we get down there you will probably find us on the golf courses until we get plugged into some other activities. We can't wait!!!!

Or course one thing is to move into the TV, which means having access to the active lifestyle I’ve always wanted. The big dream to me is still to get my memoir published.

We will be arriving the first week of October to spend the winter in our house in Silver Lake. We love everything about the Villages and cherish the friends we have made. We want to have our health, stay active and make more friends. I certainly would like to meet Graciegirl. What she said about friends coming to her house and feeling welcome is what I like all my guests to feel. So when I get there in October I hope to meet all you great people.

I'll just say "Ditto!" to everything that's been said here!
I want to go to the pool every day, learn some card games, join a book club, take some painting classes, do a little birdwatching, learn to play pickleball, and drop in on Gracie Girl! ;)
Next time we'll actually have enough time to meet everybody. I hope we'll be there in October.
The Crisper's luncheon is the third Friday, right? :hot:

My dreams for life in TV when I get there: Most of all, being single and not knowing anyone yet, I would like to meet and make wonderful new friends - Crispers sounds like a great place to start. I'd like to learn how to play golf. I'd like to volunteer my time to somebody or some cause in need. Finally, I'd like to have the time to pursue my hobbies more - gardening, cooking, sewing, etc. I dream of being healthy and able bodied for a long time to come. And...........I hope my children and grandchildren come often. Time to smell the roses!

For both of us to remain healthy, enjoy ones company, and visit friends throughout TV and the great state of FL. That's if we ever sell the :edit: house in KY.

Neither Mr. JoC nor I have ever lived in a new house before. We're so looking forward to it. We closed on 8/21 and will move down toward the end of September. Meanwhile, if anyone has the name of people for grass mowing and blind ordering before we get there, please pm me. I know there have been subjects on this, but right now my head is in a swirl. We hope to start a Cajun dancing group when we get settled in and I'm thinking of dusting off my baton and twirling again. Al (Mr. JoC) has sold all his woodworking equipment here and is looking forward to joining the woodworking shop in TV. We also sold our kayaks, but will rent them when we want to paddle. It will be great to have someone else schlep them. I will definitely have to find water with no gators since I usually fall in when getting in or out - such grace in motion :) We both just love that there's dancing in the squares every night.

Congrats JoC - I've only owned one NEW home but the joy you'll experience being the first owner of a house is not to be missed. I wish I was into woodworking, their workshop is fabulous!

Like others, "ditto" to everything comes to mind.

If only the house would sell...

Great topic GG

Starting a new life from scratch is a daunting task, especially for a single ::) When my time comes, my dream for life in TV will be to rent a house for at least 6 months (I'm favoring the historic villages) while I scope-out all my options on purchasing. I look forward to joining the singles clubs, CC membership, lifetime learning school, fitness club, join clubs that interest me..... travel, computer, photography, social, and hang out at the beautiful Orange Blossom CC pool (looking for pool buddies) ;D ;D

P.S. In the meantime, my FSBO is off the market for lack of response; I'm enjoying the end of summer and favorite season FALL, stocking up on warm winter clothing, madrone for the wood stove and will be hanging out at TOTV ::)

I used to hate the Fall, even though the fall colours are so very beautiful. It was the thought of a cold and snowy Canadian winter around the corner.

This year I can enjoy the Fall, knowing that I will be returning to The Bubble in October. Sweet! 040

Hmmm...my dreams for life in TV. Well, first I have to retire, sell my house and actually move to TV. then I would like to do the following (not listed in order of importance):

-Make several new friends (you never have too many friends)
-Check out several clubs in TV that might interest me
-Join a fitness center and develop a more well rounded fitness workout than just my current cardio workout
-Do some more traveling
-Take some courses at the Lifelong Learning Center
-Stay healthy

Joc,

Cajun Dancing? I just found another reason to absolutely love TV!! We lived in Southern Louisiana for 6 years, but never learned...... BUT, my husband has promised me he will dance once we get to TV, so you can count on us to be among your first students!! :hot:
