I don't know how to turn it off, but for those so inclined check out the zaniness, and as a bonus you get to see who's posting.

I noticed that you can see who is posting. Very interesting. Yes I want to turn it off too.

I thought all posts were Guest. I wonder if poster names are new and if posters know.

Tip of the day:

If one does not like political subject matter or the political forum:

Do not open those threads.....no further instructions required.

Actually the subjects alone can be irritating so I would just as soon turn it off.

:agree: I also would prefer to not even see them. Thanks to anyone that can help.

My guess is this was caused by activating the new server. Give Admin a day or two to fix the problem. We can live with it for now,

Maybe they could have a red opt out button at the top of the page like they do to not show ads or coupons.

Politics and religion; the facts of everyday life that the MAJORITY deal with everyday as sensible adults.

It is irritating to me when the lifestyle of the majority has to be changed due to uncivilized behavior of the few.

We did a software update last night that has caused this.

We have temporarily turned off political. We are de-bugging and will turn back on when corrected and as we test.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Please allow screen names to be seen in political, and allow someone to delete or modify the contents of their posts.

I only used it a few times. It is not a debate when all people have the same screen name.

For those of you who do not visit the political talk forum here's how it goes:

Someone starts a thread with a subject line that is like a headline from a tabloid. An opinion is stated and then the replies begin. At that time the debate is over. It becomes an insult fest and then a zinger contest

Thanx for the great job here as well.
However, shutting down the political forum is a little surprising!

I agree. Just wondering, where is the red opt out button located that you mentioned?

Thanks. I too use the NEW POSTS button to keep up to date and was suddenly wondering why all the crazies were coming out of the woodwork.....

:agree: I haven't posted in Political at all for the same reason.

If you don't want to read political posts, just ignore them

I agree. The Political forum could still be kept separate and easily ignored if desired. I think people would be at least a little more respectful (and a bit less nasty) if their forum names are shown.
