Ok ladies and Gentleman here's some big news. TOTV is moving to new forum software.

When you ask?

Soon.

We've decided to step it up another notch and move to an industrial strength forum package that will grow with us for many years to come.

As with any upgrade of this type is does not come with out a hiccup or two after the move. We'll take every measure to make it as smooth as possible.

With the new software, many things will feel familiar and many things will feel much different. The new software has tons of new features such as Social Groups you can create yourself, personal photo albums, more social networking features such as book marking, friend groups and more. Shortly after the move you will even be able to create your own Blog.

Once we get closer I will post What to expect after the move.

This will give you more detail of what's going to happen and what you'll need to do.

Here's a screen shot of the new site in it's current form. You'll see a few things are in different locations as well as no more home page. The forums are the home page.

Best Wishes
TOTV.

TOTV isn't just a website anymore, it's taken over my life! 024 I hope the new software comes with Addiction Treatments. I think some of us are gonna need them.

I agree, Barefoot, I find it so difficult to walk by without hitting the update key on the laptop. I need to set a schedule for TOTV time and stick to it! 024

No No No. NO treatment is necessary. Pleasures of the body are never in need of reduction.

Good luck with that Peachie. :o I think you're now in the first flush of love with TOTV and therefore can expect to be totally obsessed. We've all tried setting schedules. And it's like going on a diet. Sooner or later your appetite gets the best of you and you're back in front of the computer. 024

The good news is that some weeks you'll be less obsessed than others. The bad news is that you'll probably never go a day again without having to log on and get your fix. I've now spent 18 days and 22 hours on TOTV. I've even had insomnia at 3:30 AM and visited TOTV. And the scary thing is .. there were at least 10 other people logged on. :yikes:

Looks like I'll be spending more time on this site than I already do! Will need extra time to figure out the new software, so I better schedule that in now!

Oh, Barefoot, that is not good news because I'm afraid you are very right. I do believe Mr. Peachie is beginning to give me sideway glances and thinking is she perusing TOTV again! Problem is, 99.9% of the time he is correct. 024

HAH!

You all think you've got problems!

I am in the Boomermobile, heading for Chicago. with a Verizon antenna on the roof, and my trusty Sony on my lap.

Now, here's the even bigger part of this problem. I swore this laptop was not coming along. I was adamant. I was going to go detox.

But I have been set up.

When I got into the car this morning, Mr. Boomer had this thing all ready. Antenna in place, power plugged, (would not want that battery to fail) and my little laptop freed from its case, and waiting for me on the seat .

I resisted until just past Indy.

Well, before you all go thinking about how thoughtful Mr. Boomer was to do this for me, I have to tell you do not even go there.

I was set up. Literally. And figuratively.

You see, Mr. Boomer does not enjoy my helpful driving tips.

Re: new software

I'm certain there'll not be any bugs in it, but one tip from my IT days

replace the word "bug" with "feature" in any correspondence to users,

such as "yes, we are aware some posts disappear without warning and we are examining this feature going forward" - it's just so nice to hear it that way LOLOL

I just hope the new software really is "better!" All too often, new products, especially from our friend Bill Gates, with more hype than you can fathom, have so many bugs (oops, I should say "features) as to render them "worthless" for some time!

;D

Oh no! This new software has tons of new "features" and Darrel is currently trying to work them out.

Me too!
This new software looks great! It looks like I can't accidentally click on a post and go to the Political Forum. Yay! You have no idea how many times I accidentally wind up there. Whenever it happens I panic. GoBack! GoBack! Getmeouttahere! :yikes:

Bugs, Features, whatever you call them -- if they keep me from accidentally landing in the political forum I'll be happy!
Thank you! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Probably doesn't come with a manual, just a phone number of a help desk in India!

It's a free forum, isn't it? (I mean the Simple Machines forum system), isn't that freeware?

OUr new software was not "free." In fact it was quite expensive. It will be online in a short period of time.

Ladies....just so you know how addicting this place can be....because I don't want to be away from you for a long period of time (15 minutes or more) I went to Verizon bought one of those hand held blackberry type things....pay an extra $25 a month...so I can access TOTV anywhere...anytime!!! At the pool, on the golf course, in a store, in the car....where ever I am ....there TOTV must be as well! Sick isn't it....I need help! But I love it!! There could be worse addictions!!

I am a Moderator on another forum that uses this software.....I think people will like it.

Just wondering......will it have Rep points? (not that I really have an opinion one way or another....there are good and bad about them....just one feature I'm used to dealing with.)

I don't know the answer to that. My IT partner Darrel is dealing with all that stuff.
