Can anyone shed some light on the Ice event at Gaylord Palms? The grandkids (ages 6 & 9) are coming for Thanksgiving and I am thinking about taking them there. I did search this site for previous comments but most of them are years old. Thanks!

We took the grand kids year before last. In my opinion it is an event for the young and elder and young at heart to not miss.

And know that it may be 90 outside but it will be freeze your toes and hands inside. They have parkas that come with the price of admission, but try to remember to not wear open toes sandals and a tanl top.

We brought our own winter outer clothing and sweaters.

Don't miss it!

A group of neighbors went a few years ago. Bring gloves, warm shoes, long pants, heavy coat, etc. It is around 28 F or so in there. That would be a nice high in Minneapolis in mid-winter but for Florida....

The ice sculptures were magnificent and the Gaylord Palms is a very beautiful hotel.

We've gone the last 2 years. The hotel is beautiful during the holidays. The ice sculptures are a work of art. There are the ice slides, the snow slides, and an ice bar. Take gloves and closed toe shoes. They give you oversized parkas to wear.

Thanks for your input folks. I have read all the info and it sounds like something we all would enjoy. I have a question regarding the tickets which isn't clear to me on the literature. Can anyone tell me if someone who does not purchase a ticket for the tubing slide can still be in that area to watch the others? I'm thinking about driving over to the Gaylord Palms someday just to check the location, get any questions answered and purchase the tickets right there.

I'd say the best thing is to call the number and ask them for the answers to your questions.
