I noticed this statue at the entrance to Bridgeport at Lake Miona Village. This thing is huge, maybe 15 feet. I would have suspected that the deed restrictions would have prohibited this, even at this village.

Don't ever, EVER mess with Paul B! But you'd have to go to Akin, MN to see the real thing.

I like it. Maybe we could put a windmill in front and a hole between his feet , then we'll have the start of the 39th "executive" course

Did Harold Schwartz or Gary Morse have any connections to Manistique? I know Mr. Schwartz was from around the Traverse City / Torch Lake area (hence, Brownwood) but that is in the Lower Penninsula of Michigan. Manistique is in the Upper Penninsula!

This is one of those threads where folks are kidding around.

I have heard that one of the Morses has bunions.

I have heard that one of the Morses has bunions.

And I heard the fourth and final square will be named Bunionwood. Initially it was to be called Italian Springs but a bunch of Canadian snowbirds threatened to become permanent residents of TV. Hence, that idea was abandoned.

Oh Barefoot...is this true?

Well I know I saw the original Paul Bunyan statue in Old forge, New York. and then they moved it to Brainerd, Minnesota and i suppose stops in Maine, Michigan and a few other states and now it apparently has landed in The Villages where it is totally misplaced and miscast. I hope this is someone's idea of a joke and and a joke that will soon end before it gets mightmarish. I for one will call ARC as this community is already too much of a vacation destination for some while that I thought it was going to be a retirement home

Joe: I once knew a girl from Maine.
Jim: Bangor?
Joe: No... just good friends.

Ya gotta love the classics.
