I know how you feel, but the idea of broadcasting it seems a bit strange don't you think? Good luck.

If you dislike enough to post this on here, maybe it's a good idea for you.

I found a much simpler solution, you can BLOCK the people that seem to be causing the most problems or concerns.
I also selectively read posts, and just avoid or ignore the one that I suspect will be inflammatory.
Hope this helps.

We live in a "Great Country" where you can do, listen to, or protest most anything you like or dislike. Good luck to you.

Forums aren't for everyone, that's for sure.
There is nonsense of course, but also great discussions and lots of friendships made and nurtured.
I hope it makes you feel better to stay off TOTV.

I always feel sorry for those who dislike some particular aspect of open forums and then then feel compelled to have an open confession. That is their choice, so be it.

However, before writing off an otherwise cordial group of participants you should consider the facts. Is it really fair to yourself to first categorize the entire forum for the undesireable actions of a very few.
Second are you so readily willing to be bamboozled by the few?

Especially when you have two more options.

One, the ones you dislike can be put on ignore; have you done that?
There is no obligation for you to read anything that you do not like.

To just up and leave sounds a bit melo dramatic and allows the few to win another one.

Hell just suck it up and stay here with the other 98% of us that do it right!

Sorry to hear the OP is leaving. For the most part I enjoy the forums and have learned a lot about The Villages and issues folks 55 and over face. I have particularly enjoyed the forums since I started using the ignore feature when warrented.

Your choice, but consider this: If you leave, you have surrendered to troglodytes. Better to poke them in the eye by staying

Good luck with this. I tried this with some sites and always come back unless I found another place more to my liking. Search around as there are many interesting places out there on the Internet. Facebook is quite fun and you can control what is written on your page quite well by just unfriending people and/or deleting their posts off of your Facebook page. Hundreds of sites too for hobbies and the like.

Love this feature. Also intriguing when manaboutown leaves me in his inner circle! (And quotes me)...

I think you will find that some just stay away from the site for a while. Even GG left the site for a time, then returned. When you announce it on this site you're letting people know. That way they don't start looking for you and wondering if you're OK. So announcing that you're staying off the site for a while is a good thing. Of course you always get that person, making a big deal of your post to not post.

ToTV is like a Clint Eastwood movie..............The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.

Each individual must decide if they want to watch and eat popcorn.

That's a good comparison. Especially applies to the Political Forum where you really need a tough hide to go on there with any regularity.
