They pay for 12 months and only use 3 or 4 of them and let us use the rest.I think they are the most generous people I have ever met. Thank Snow Birds and welcome back to TV.

We are brand new and we've met the nicest people everywhere we go! Most are returning snowbirds. They have taught us so much.

I agree 100 percent with this.

Who ever decided for the whole community that snowbirds were to be treated as "outsiders", and that "insiders" (frogs)--afraid of traveling and being flexible about where/how they live for 6-8 months--are somehow superior citizens??

If not for "snowbirds", TV would never have formed and grown beyond the ambience of a mobile home park.

And why do some frogs want to create division instead of unity with over half the TV population? A lot of us left that kind of prejudice behind in the northeastern-most states. Don't want to go back to that thinking!

Actually Snow"flakes" are even better. Interesting to me that some seem to think they have more "rights" to be here than others.. pretty stupid.

"and that "insiders" (frogs)--afraid of traveling and being flexible about where/how they live for 6-8 months--are somehow superior citizens??"

but we live here full time and travel...also in no way do we feel superior to anyone...except of course those that try to group everyone into a neat little negatively titled box....wonder who would do that? Sounds like they have an issue...strange...

Snowbirds pay taxes, just like full-timers; ergo, they are the same as full-timers!

maybe we will just pretend to be full timers and then high tail it out of town in May :(

Can't wait till my snowbird neighbors get back. It's been lonely without them. We'll just be bracing ourselves for all the hugs.

I love my snowbird friends! We need to support them on the forum and everywhere else. I hope the OP was being genuine.

Totally agree here :bigbow: If one can afford to own two homes why would you want to stay in the heat of FL during the summer time?

I want to thank all those who have posted positive comments about us snowbirds. We are snowbirds and probably will continue as long as we can maintain our Northern home and our Villages home, and make that 2500 mile round trip each year.
What I don't read is any laments and breast beating from us snowbirds about having to pay amenity fees for amenities we don't use for 4 or 5 months. Also lets not forget about the garbage and sewer and water fees that continue with no one there. Also the yearly maintenance fee for all the upkeep which we cannot enjoy for a full 12 months. Also no complaints from us snowbirds about how hot is is, just leaving the cold North and West. Don't forget about "all the rain" that falls, and thoughts from us is if that was frozen we wouldn't be able to get out of our driveway.
I think we are a happy group that look forward to come down and renew friendships, make new friends, which by the way is easy, and enjoy blue sky, green grass, activities other than mowing lawns, trimming, shoveling, scraping windshields, negative wind chill factor, and forever gray and snow filled skies.
So when you see us "snowbirds" wearing shorts and a tee and the temp is in the high 50's, realize this is a "good day" for us, although my wife says to put on long pants or they are going to think you are crazy!
PS: Look at the happy smiles from the retailers and employees!

Agree.....one doesn't even have to "afford to own two homes". I admire the people who expand their horizons and views living in a travel trailer or motor home, often going cross-country and up to Alaska. They don't complain about frogs. They just leave them behind for a few months.

We are snowbirds-turned-frogs. We can afford two homes but got tired of the three-day trip twice a year with two pets. Also tired of not being in residence while the Michigan winters were damaging our home in a city that never heard of the home watch idea.

Don't like the summer heat but put up with it and plan some trips to get away from it.
There are different reasons for becoming frogs.

Let's not forget the snowbirds greatly enhance, our economy!!!

Dealing with the extra traffic and waits at restaurants is so small a price to pay, to have TV lose, this extra income.

I look forward to seeing some snowbird friends as they are nice people.
