View Full Version : What's the rush?

Any one have any thoughts as to why the creation of Creekside Landing (where the buffalo roamed) is moving along at such a frantic pace? It surprised me find a nearly full complement of workers moving sand and digging trenches both ysterday (Sunday) and today (Labor Day)! That's got to be one h*** of a lot of double time, right?

Double time that's hilarious. You have really dated yourself. These days illegal immigrants make up the vast majority of workers on a construction site, especially in Florida. They don't get anything but low wage straight time. ;)

SWR, my husband commented on the same thing. I can't imagine what the rush is though. :dontknow:

Because they need to have the real estate ready to be sold by the time the snowbirds get here in Jan.

I have always been in awe of all the building going on in TV. Seems to me that the workers always work double time and houses go up quick as a flash. Is Creekside Landing any different?

They need to sell them and they already use the "cottages" at Lake Sumter Landing for the Lifestyle Preview for potential buyers...

This hasn't been widely broadcast, but I know it must be true because I heard it at the pool. The working title of the project might be Creekside Landing, but don't bet on it. A major portion of the section will be devoted not to villas, but to the biggest mosque in central Florida. It's all part of a nefarious agreement among the Morse and Bush families and the Emir of Qatar. Plans will be finalized at the upcoming BBQ (note -- only beef will be served - no pork ribs, no sausage), but the rush seems to be a desire to have the mosque completed by Muharram, the Islamic New Year, on 29 Dec 08.

Just heard from a Villages sales agent that the homes being built at Lake Sumter Landing will not be for sale. They will be used by the Developer for visitor rentals. Great location!

If you want to observe a "rush" in building take a drive up Baisley trail in Bonita (off Canal street). I've posted elsewhere there is a building frenzy going on there that would boggle your mind. The road is bumper to bumper construction vehicles. I wonder if the developer knows something we don't. Maybe this is just business as usual in TV since I wasn't here when the "south of 466" building explosion hit but I've never seen houses go up like they are there.

My Villages Sales Rep said they are not selling the cottages. The new villas at LSL are in addition to the cottages, not a replacement.

It sounds as though they are having difficulty keeping up with the number of requests to preview the "lifestyle". Business must be good! ;D

The only official word that's been put out is that they will be building 20 designers and approx 180 villas in that space. Does anyone know if the villas will be standard patio and courtyard villas or Villas like those near Spanish Springs and Glenview or, perhaps, something totally different?

Seven, I don't know exactly what they're building. I was interested in a Courtyard Villa in that area. But my Rep told me the Villas are definitely not going to be for sale. They'll be for rent.

For you snowbirds who haven't been here for awhile....
You will be amazed at the rapid pace of building in the old Buffalo field. I rode by there Wednesday and could see some foundations in place. Next time I went by there on Saturday there must have been 20+ houses already framed out. Incredible. It's still hard to tell what model they are building but most of these appear to be frame courtyard villas. Ask again in another week and we'll probably know for sure.
