I expect in the near future, I will be purchasing a home in the Villages. My preference would be to buy a turnkey home, but if the right home is not turnkey, I'm wondering what peoples experiences may have been when they purchased in the Villages. Are there opportunites to buy a whole house full of furniture via the classified? If not and purchase smaller sets of furniture (ie: bedroom set), are there any inexpensive companys that will move it for you? Thanks in advance for any helpful hints.

There are several awesome places to buy new or gently used furniture for a lot less than it will cost you to move stuff. Almost Perfect Furniture and Nearlee New are two that come to mind. They have sets as well as individual items that could be parts of sets. They will deliver. We bought our house completely furnished to the teacups, but didn't have the time to inventory it, so we will have duplicates of a lot of things, particularly in the kitchen. As soon as a lot of our boxes get here from storage, I'll need to have a huge garage sale!

It is highly dependent on the amount of time you have available. If you have a lot of time, there are plenty of "goodwill" type places that have a lot of great stuff. there are several places like "Nearly New" that have gently used stuff, but we found the pricing to be pretty steep so you have to be selective and take your time. On the other side, we furnished the whole place in 4 days - using Showcase furniture in Mount Dora (they deliver), Walmart.com, Wayfair, and Amazon.com. Total cost of about $17,000 - give or take a $1000... We hit the ground and were ready for renters in 4 days. I would not recommend that, but you could do it reasonably in a few weeks. Don't forget the Washer and Dryer - that is extra (figure another $1600 or so), and shades.
