I was looking at the events calendar to see what tennis opportunities existed this weekend and noted that some of the descriptions had the word "open" in them and others were simply described as a "group"...does "open" mean that anyone can just show up and play?...does "group" mean you join it first before playing?...are some groups "open" without using the word "open"...Thanks !

Open means you can show up and play. For groups, call the rec center first. They should have the contact information. Also, many groups will disban, but the rec news still have them as active groups. So call first to see if the group is still active. Not sure what your level is, but we play Tues and Thurs mornings and are looking for additioanl 3.5-4 level players.

I pretty sure that means the courts are open? Meaning nobody has them reserved? If your looking for round robin scheduled play time look Rec. paper. tIerra Del Sol has scheduled round robin play several times week. The only other show up to play that I am aware of is at glenview on clay and there is charge.
