Does this bother anyone at all ?

"On Sunday, Iraq said that it has signed an intelligence and security cooperation agreement with Russia, Iran, and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, purportedly to battle Islamic State. "American officials knew that a group of Russian military officers were in Baghdad," reports Michael R. Gordon at The New York Times, "but they were clearly surprised when the Iraqi military's Joint Operations Command announced the intelligence sharing accord on Sunday."

This goes on and we are surprised by it

It appears that a leader is emerging finally in the ME

"UNITED NATIONS — For the second time this month, Russia moved to expand its political and military influence in the Syria conflict and left the United States scrambling, this time by reaching an understanding, announced on Sunday, with Iraq, Syria and Iran to share intelligence about the Islamic State.

Like Russia’s earlier move to bolster the government of President Bashar al-Assad by deploying warplanes and tanks to a base near Latakia, Syria, the intelligence-sharing arrangement was sealed without notice to the United States. American officials knew that a group of Russian military officers were in Baghdad, but they were clearly surprised when the Iraqi military’s Joint Operations Command announced the intelligence sharing accord on Sunday.

It was another sign that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia was moving ahead with a sharply different tack from that of the Obama administration in battling the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL, by assembling a rival coalition that includes Iran and the Syrian government."

We sure see the ME in a different light

"American officials, who have long cast Mr. Assad as the primary source of instability in Syria, assert that the Syrian leader’s brutal crackdown provided an opening for jihadist groups and that the crisis cannot be resolved until a political transition is negotiated that requires him to leave power. But Russian officials see the Syrian government as a bulwark against further gains by groups like Islamic State and Nusra Front and sometimes suggest that the defeat of the Islamic State should come before a negotiated solution for the Syrian conflict.

Even as the United States has banked on a diplomatic strategy of trying to enlist Russia’s cooperation in Syria, the Kremlin has continued to jolt the White House with its unilateral military and political moves."

A big chunk of influence, to say the least !!!

This is more of the fallout from Obama's political (or theological?) decision to unilaterally pull US troops out of Iraq in 2011 prior to the 2012 campaign. He also ignored the blood, toil and treasure we expended. If I was an Iraq vet, I'd be FURIOUS. Actually, I'm furious anyway.

It's not just that's he not qualified ... but rather Obie is a destructive menace to US security. Nice job ... now the Russian army is on the ground in the Middle East.

Of course it should bother any red blooded American that remembers whe the USA was the lead dog in these types of moves.

But since we have a no spine, no leadership, no balls president that nobody on the planet fears the next country with a strong leader will fill the void.

Obama lack of leadership and pulling the troops out of Iraq allowed ISIS to form and strengthen

Obama do nothing but state we will disrupt and destry ISIS over a year....we did absolutely nothing. In fact ISIS has almost quadrupled in size. Has billions of dollars in funding and is tecgnologically aggressive.

An emaculated president, that emasculated our military, ultimately emasculated the USA on the international scene.

Funny how the rest of the world recognizes what has happened to the USA during his presidency but his followers/lemmings here at home not only re-elected hum, but think he is doing a great job.

Limp wristed wimp.....has made us become an also ran that is not to be feared in the eyes of the rest of the worlds leaders.

Does anyone know what happened to that HIGHLY TOUTED, overwhelmingly popular 60 nation coalition that our President put together and spoke to us about ?

Here is something I think you can be assured of.

We want Assad out; we have threatened and drew a red line, etc. Assad has used gas, etc on its own children.

We will now stand shoulder to shoulder with Assad.

The President said we cannot return to a "Assad type" regime. Already he is playing the word game.

What has it been...2 or 3 years since we drew that line, let him cross it, said he had to go.

Obama is good at this...he will wiggle and squirm and hope those words don't get remembered, but I vividly recall the mocking tones of his press sect regarding Assad and the 60 nation coalition.
