New series started last night. My husband and I thought we would give it a try since it was FBI type. By the end of the show, we had No clue what was going on?? Did anyone watch and what did you think? We also weren't too happy 10 minutes in we have to see 2 guys kissing then we find out he's a gay jew befriending an Arab woman. Come on Hollywood this is getting over the top. We are frankly sick of the agenda of making all this appear "normal" so its a no thanks for us. Also it moved at such a fast pace, its confusing. Why must they do that? It's not appealing but frustrating when they start a show off like that

Glad I am not alone in getting lost with some of these new shows.. tried The Player with Wesley Snipes.. never did figure it out... ( I am not ashamed to admit it)- even tried a new sitcom.. Life as we know it.. I thought it was funny but a bit inappropriate for an 8:30 show.

Glad I'm not alone too. My head was spinning. Will you watch again??

I was also disappointed with the new ABC series Quantico. After 45 minutes, I turned it off. I have visited Quantico, both the Marine Corps base and the FBI Training facility, and last night's depiction of FBI new agent training was so rediculous that I lost interest. The major networks don't seem able to compete wth HBO or Netflix series any more.

It takes more than an hour to build the storyline and characters. We decided to give each new show a three episode test. That being said, I'm not wild about any of the shows after week one.

Yeah, but it often takes less than an hour for me to know I don't like it.

Me too. I quit in the middle of Blood and Oil.

I was so disappointed in that show Sherlock. Or was it Holmes. Or was it Watson. Anyway, we were expecting a good ole Whodunnit series, and it was all this weird stuff. We Knew right away we wouldn't like it, but gave it a couple of tries anyway.

I agree, agree. agree. Weird stuff.

I wish there would be some new episodes of Father Brown.

NO, to any who thinks it is religious ...it is a murder mystery and written by GK Chesterton. Love the costumes and backgrounds and plots. And like the characters too.

Hollywood and TV's agenda has always been about pushing the envelope. My envelope has already been pushed too far and I refuse to watch any of that stuff as my own personal protest.

love it...spot on with the depiction of Holmes as an OCD type...I think you have to have gotten past Basil Rathbone as Holmes...love the PBS series Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch and the movies with Robert Downey Jr....all done marvelously with a slightly different take...

So happy we are not alone on Quantico. Whoa, it's supposed to be entertainment not torture. Gonna give it one more week.

No interest in Quantico or Blood and Oil. Think I will go back on Acorn and rewatch the Midsummer Murders or Foyles War. Quality shows witha nice twist of humor mixed in.

Quantico was unrealistic and Blood and Oil went off after 20 min.

That is how I feel. They do some wierd things with the character and or story line of the show and it is just too unbelieveable. We gave up on Scorpion last year before the first one was over. Just too far out there on show idea. Almost laughable at what they had these kids doing.

Do you mean Elementary? It does get strange but I like it, especially Lucy Liu.

Yes, thanks! It just isn't what I was expecting.

We retirees just aren't the demographic the advertisers are aiming for. We don't buy all that much anymore. The shows are geared for the younger set, which is why so much of the virtual reality stuff is so popular. Not to mention those shows are so much cheaper tp produce.

I do like Modern Family. Our son got me into that. I think it's well written for a comedy. So many comedies are just one-liners. This show is well acted.

I think Quantico is supposed to be Grey's Anatomy for the FBI. I'll give it some more tries. Realize it's unrealistic but as my father always said "it's only a TV show"

The re-run is on tonight if anyone missed it

I missed it, watched the rerun (thanks HH), and found it intriguing.
Like Bonnevie, I'll give it some more tries.

Folks the writing/creators in TVland and movieland are about mentally and morally bankrupt.

Far too many movie making/sitcom people are just not good story tellers. And their use of biological or scientific hyberbole stretches one's imagination beyond the pale. And while I do watch the Walking Dead what's with the obsession with vampires and zombies

I just saw Unbroken good movie in my opinion.

I find myself more and more searching for old rerun and old movies with substance and good character actors, etc. Seinfeld, Taxi, Encore Westerns

...Taxi...

Don't hear that one mentioned often. Great show.

How about Wings...love that one too.

Taxi and Wings were both good shows. I loved Cheers.

Have been watching Quantico. It is OK bu nothing special.

I really have enjoyed watching the DVDs of the first two seasons of Blacklist and it seems a lot of shows are trying to copy its formula. Megan Boone does a really good job of selling her character to the audience. As most probably know, she is the grand daughter or something like that of the founder of the Villages, Harold Schwartz.

I finally finished watching the premiere of Qunatico. It looks like one of those shows similar to Lost where you have to piece together the show's plot and the like. Blacklist is also like that.

I do like trying to figure things out.
