Walk-Friendly Champ Courses?

Which of the championship course would be considered the friendliest to walkers? I'm mainly talking about playing 9 holes. I know at least some have a pretty good distance from the 9th hole back to the clubhouse (at least one Palmer course) and this might make them less friendly for walking 18 holes.

But if I'm just playing 9 holes, which courses would you suggest? (And you can warn me about the less-friendly courses also...heheh.)

Cane Gardens's Hibiscus-9 isn't too bad. Some hills, but no. 9 does play back to the front of the clubhouse. Avoid Palmer. Long walks between some holes with meanderings through neighborhoods. Unless you're a spring chicken marathoner, I don't recommend walking any of the championship tracks during the heat of summer. Evenings, maybe. If it's not raining. But it usually is.

Just FYI...I'm less concerned about hills than I am long distances between holes that might make cart riders in my group have to wait too long no matter how fast I walk. :)

here walking Mangrove. You just step up the pace a bit...since there's almost always a short wait at the tee and it only takes a few minutes to walk from 6 to 7. If the group has to wait a minute or two it's no big deal...of course if you have health issues then walking most any course should probably be avoided and replaced with just general walking...

Walk the execs. I've never held up anyone, anywhere. It's less than 2 miles. On the champs put your bag in someone's cart, walk each hole with a couple of clubs and jump in the cart in between holes if it's a long one.

I don't care about the length of the course itself. I never hold up anybody when I walk....UNLESS there an is extremely long walk between holes...like from #9 on one of the Palmer courses back to the clubhouse. Then it's unavoidable. That's why I'm asking about walk-friendly courses...the ones without that sort of nasty walk between holes.

I walk and carry the bag once in a while. On cooler days mostly. Palmer is OK as long as Cherry Hill or Riley Grove is last 9. Mallory works OK, Cane is not to bad. Orange Blossom and Hacienda Hills are easy, have done Bonifay but it's hard. Stay away from Evans Prairie and Belle Glade, Havana is also tough but can be done. Have not tried Terra or Lopez but I think you could do Terra. Have played Lopez but always used a cart. With Lopez and Belle Grade, it's such a long cart ride I am tired by the time I get there so walking is unlikely to happen.

I "kind of" walk the champs. I put my clubs in someone's cart and take the clubs I need to finish the hole. If there is a very long walk from green to tee, or clubhouse, I jump in the cart. These courses are mostly designed to make course view building lots. [off topic but Belle Glade may be the exception]
Back home---on public courses I wouldn't do that for 2 reasons:
1] it's a short walk from greens to tees
2] to rent a cart and than use it just carry my clubs is a waste of money

I wish more people would walk the champs and take turns with the cart AKA ready golf. You can really move fast that way.

I have never held up anyone walking on an exec course. The only hole that I lag behind is 9 on Mangrove. Nine is an easy hole and people finish it quickly. Although some do spend a bit of time shaking hands and moving items to and from the bag. But by hole nine, who cares? And sometimes from 1 to 2 on palmetto but after that it's very easy to close any gap because people slow down on the par 4's.

Hi fred53: I walk and carry a bag. There are no short cuts from 6-7 because of the facility behind #6. I do hustle. I just feel badly if people have to wait for me at all. Palmetto from #1, to #2 creates a similar problem so does the walk from #5 to 6 on Churchill. If the walk was after the fact such as from #9 to the starter shack at Southern Star it wouldn't even be an issue.
