I have Comcast's box and I can't seem to figure how to connect a DVD player. Does someone have a few minutes to lend some know- how?
Thanks.

I am thinking the cable from the wall goes into the IN on the cable box. The cable that comes OUT of the comcast box and IN to the TV now needs to go IN to the DVD. Then another cable needs to go OUT of the DVD and IN to the TV. DVD should also be set for a different channel than the cable uses, ex. cable uses channel 3 on TV. DVD box should have a switch for channel 3 or 4? put it on 4 and use channel 4 on TV to play a DVD. Hope this helps! I try. ::)

I use a splitter and run one line into the Comcast DVR and one line into the personal DVR. The cables out of the Comcast DVR (4 0f them) go into the TV and are assigned to Video4 The personal DVR goes into the coax of the TV at Video1.
This allows two things. I can watch the Comcast DVR channels in HD and record using the Comcast DVR and I can use my normal time recording on the personal DVR and record multiple channels during a recording session.

I was thinking about this earlier this morning and I remembered that you said DVD player (not a player/recorder). A simple way to hookup a DVD player is to take the three pronged wire with the white-red-and-yellow connectors and plug one end into the back on the DVD player (matching the colors of course) and to plug the other end into the back of the TV. The newer TVs come with an Input selector on the remote under the label Input. Some TVs tell you which Input you are plugged into on the back of the set or you can look at the manual to find out which Input the three pronged wire went into. The coax cable is always Input 1. Turn on the TV and put a DVD in the DVD player to get it running. Take the remote and press the Input button until you get the DVD screen to come up. From then on, go to Input 1 to use the TV with the Comcast box and go to the other Input to use the DVD player.
If you use an entertainment console, look at the manual to find out where to plug the three pronged cable and what button to select on the Entertainment console remote to get it to select.
Hope one of these solutions helps.
