My fiancé is a military dependent with Tricare insurance. She will be turning 65 in a few months and will be switching to Tricare for Life under Medicare.

Do the doctors and the hospital in The Villages accept Tricare insurance for their services? Thanks for your responses.

I don't know, so I really shouldn't answer, but I can't imagine they don't. My Dad was retired Army, and my Mom used her Tricare both in Pennsylvania and here in Florida. I don't think that is an insurance they can turn down. I suggest she go to the nearest Vet's Admin office also. There are a few lesser known benefits afforded to military dependents....i.e., Aid and Assistance benefit for use is a nursing home/assisted living facility. I'm hoping your fiance won't be needing any such thing for some time, but if there are children it's best they know all the benefits she is entitled to, should she ever need them. I just happened on it and it was very helpful for my Mother.

Not a problem here in the Villages. Basically with TriCare for Life, Medicare becomes primary and TriCare picks up anything not covered by Medicare. As long as they accept Medicare, you should be good to go.

And just a few do not accept Medicare. Many of those because Medicare has disqualified them from being reimbursed. And virtually every hospital takes Medicare.

The simple answer: yes. This will be a supplement to Medicare.

I hope your not planning on getting married soon? If so I would have your fiancé check, it may affect her benifits? Goggle tricare spouce getting married or something like that? Or visit tricare site? I have to renew my wife of 43 years and 20 years in the military ever 4 or 6 years. (Can't remember) you would think hers would be indefinite also? But it's not. I think there are stipulations why it's not?

Unfortunately we cannot get married as Suzie would lose her lifetime military insurance benefits. We also cannot file joint tax returns for the same reason. Not what we would prefer but that's life.

Only issue is you cannot use the Villages health as they just changed their insurance requirements. Most all other Doc's and Villages Hospital accept Tricare for life along with Medicate
