Another Job seeker

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Regulators on Friday shut down Silver State Bank, saying the Nevada bank failed because of losses on soured loans, mainly in commercial real estate and land development.

It was the 11th failure this year of a federally insured bank.

Nevada regulators closed Silver State and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. was appointed receiver of the bank, based in Henderson, Nev. It had $2 billion in assets and $1.7 billion in deposits as of June 30.

Andrew K. McCain, a son of Republican presidential nominee John McCain, sat on the boards of Silver State Bank and of its parent, Silver State Bancorp, starting in February but resigned in July citing "personal reasons," corporate filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission show. Andrew McCain also was a member of the bank's audit committee, responsible for oversight of the company's accounting.

Remember the Keating 5

Like Father like Son

Great to have that kind of wonderful experience.

JUNGLEJIM..You finally made a pertinent point. I would like to discuss the Keating five AND Sen Obama'sbackground and ties to radical left wingers...ok ?

I am serious...I think the Keating five is fair game.....as well as Sen Obama's background.....will you begin the thread or should I ???

McCain's son running a failed bank is about as pertinent as a candidates daughter being pregnant!!!
Fluff and cannon fodder to smoke over, as usual, focus on the issues that will affect how and where our Nation heads from here.

As long as the partisan polarization continues to breed upon itself there will be NO objectivity...on either side.

The candidates and the media are keenly aware of our mediocre expectations and easily satisfied with a red herring of any subject to chew on.

Ahhhh when was the last time anybody heard what was going to be done about energy independence? Oh I forgot, the price of oil went down a lot....the price of gas went down (not a lot)....as Gilda Radner used to say....."never mind"!

BTK-I think the point here is to remember the Keating 5. Yes, It is in McCain's past, but it did happen.

Sen McCain has said that he used very poor judgement, and the panel that investigated and took action on all BUT Sen McCain agree...he used poor judgement...actually got up and walked out of the last meeting he attended announcing he could not be a part of this.

Now, will you talk about Sen Obama's radical friends ? :)

bucco....I think we would all read your information about his "radical friends" or his "mentors"...as long as you have information that backs it up and it is fact or shows impact on his positions....I would read it....perhaps learn something....and may even comment in return....more information. Please post them....perhaps in it's own thread though.
