My wife and I went to the Oct 1 show. We were very excited because it was our first time at The Sharon, and we both love Charlie Daniels. Unfortunately we were both very disappointed. We felt the sound was awful. It was extremely loud, there was way too much bass, and you could not hear Charlie Daniels sing because his voice was overwhelmed by the band. We noticed that a number of people left during the show. We would have also, but our seats were in the middle and it would have been difficult to leave.

I've found that sometimes overly loud concerts are that way because the band has passed their prime and can't really sing anymore. If they didn't pump the volume up to 11, you'd realize just how bad their voices really sound now.

I love music and theater. CD is the only performer I have walked out on in my lifetime. I thought because of the song Devil went down to Georgia that he was a country band. Not even close to country in my opinion.

Yes, we were disappointed in the sound quality. We had seats right up front, and the echo was horrible, as well as the distortion due to the speakers being overdriven. It was too bad, this was the only concert in the last 30 years that I was actually watching my watch and counting the minutes to the end.
The sound was so bad that I know every word to the Devil went down to Georgia, and I had trouble understanding Charlie Daniels. Hope the second concert was better.

Don't most bands have a sound tecnician/manager to deal with the band sound? Seems that would be something that could be adjusted. Maybe someone with band experience could comment for me.

The CD band has played this style of music since the early 70's. I first saw them in 1972. Probably more of a country/rock sound.

Sounds more like a front of house (sound technician) problem. They should have worked out sound issues earlier in a rehearsal. A good sound man can make or break a performance.
It would be interesting to see/hear if Charlie Daniels has really lost his performing/singing capabilities. My opinion only, I think he's still capable.

From where we were sitting, I could see the "sound technician" on the stage, and there were 2 or 3 located in the center of the seating area, guess they thought is was OK........
Hope Clint Black is better, or we may have to reconsider the Sharon...........

And I thought it was just me! I hope it was the band and not the house acoustics because if it is the latter we are in BIG trouble!

We saw CD group also , went with some good friends, there first time at The Sharon. It was a disappointment that the sound was too loud and muffled to understand the words. I have been to The Sharon several times now and this was not how other performers have sounded, I have been bragging how great the theater is, sound system specifically. I enjoyed the band, thought his band was great, the drummer, the guitar players, keyboard player, very good and very talented.

Muffled words was exactly what we thought. Good explanation. Very loud for the size of the place. Kind of disappointing to us also. I love CDB. We also had to deal with some young people acting up. They were finally thrown out. This was Friday night.

Not sure every performer has their own sound guys. I believe the Sharon has a staff that understands (?) the system. I say that because a couple performers have thanked their sound guys and those shows seemed to sound just fine. Michael Bolton even commented that his sound guys were in theater at 8 M and were there until 5 PM which included rehearsal time and his sound was perfect. I have been to about 7 shows at the Sharon and only a couple have had great sound. IMO, it's a Sharon issue and they don't seem motivated to fix it.

We love Charlie and he still has a great voice but the Thursday night performance was a disaster. I hope the sound was better Friday night. I can only blame his sound crew. Very disappointing. Our son saw him in a different venue and thought it awesome.

Sound too loud and words muddled. Very impressed with how strong Charlie's voice still is at his age. Too bad we couldn't understand most of the words.

We've attended several performances of different types at The Sharon. After making a point to get seats 'down front' we also were terribly disappointed in the acoustics at those seats. We thought we had read that they had spent quite a bit of money with acoustics experts to assure good sound. We still go to The Sharon, but now we get seats several rows up from the main aisle in the center of the mezzanine. The sound there is quite good...and the seats are a bit cheaper as well. You don't see the performers as well, so I bring a small set of binoculars.

I have sent 5 emails to them on both the sound the obnoxious folks that use their phones and tablets to take pics and block the people behind them. I also know of others that have done the same thing. To date, zero replies and no changes at the venue.

I have requested a refund. I think everyone who was unhappy with the sound should do so. It wasn't bad, it was TERRIBLE. There is no way we should pay the high prices required at The Sharon and get junk like that. I think the only way we will get action is for many people to complain, and request a refund. Money talks!

I have received NO response to my complaint, asking for a refund is NOT a bad idea. I did just get tickets for Clint Black, and if we have the same problems, it will be the LAST time we go to this venue. There are lots of things to do here, and paying for a venue with horrible audio is not necessary.

That's awful. I'm going to see Frankie Avalon. Hope this doesn't happen for his show.

We thought the sound for Michael Bolton was horrible!!

We saw CDB 15 years ago and they were awesome. When I read these reviews last week I was surprised. We saw The CDB in concert (open air) last night (10-12-15) at the Georgia National Fair in Perry Georgia and THEY WERE FANTASTIC! Charlie is 78 years old now and he has had this band of very talented musicians for 16 years now and they are super tight. I am an ex band member myself and have an ear for music and these guys were GREAT. Last nights concert was Open Air and you cant control the acoustics at all and for then to sound this good outside was AWESOME! So sorry many Villagers had this terrible sound experience and I can tell you that what ever they heard was NOT indicative of this bands typical performance.
