How about the rule that gave BYU a win yesterday- I think it was Washington St. scored with two seconds to go to tie it up, but their QB tossed the ball over his shoulder before celebrating. 15 yard penalty and a missed extra-point later, BYU wins.

Refs deciding games is ridiculous. There was no taunting involved in this athlete's gesture. What a way to end a big game for a team. Taunting should be the rule, not a specific act that may or may not be taunting, depending on the situation.

Good thing there is no taunting on TOTV!! (Sorry about the editorial comment there.)

:agree: :agree: :agree:

Taking away the end zone celebration from a bunch of college kids is ridiculous. They work hard and make the score and then toss the ball in the air and get a penalty. Bull!!

The best time of the year sportswise as far as I am concerned. By the time today and Sunday are over, I have to soak my hand in warm water to reduce the swelling from channel switching through all of the games that are on at the same time.

Maxim listed the 10 worst college football teams for 2008:

10 Notre Dame
9 Mississippi
8 Vanderbilt
7 Washington State
7 Minnesota
5 Iowa State
4 Baylor
3 Stanford
2 Syracuse
1 Duke

This is from the Maxim for October 2008 pages 50-53. This magazine is kind of a PG-13 version of Playboy. It has girls but they are scantily clad rather than naked but has the articles and other stuff you find in Playboy.

I agreee with some of them. I really do hope that Notre Dame can pull themselves out of the cesspool.

I hate to say it but these early games are real bores and blowouts. I hope they do not continue this trend throughout the season.

Much better than what we had on earlier. Not good if you are an OSU fan. But this is what I expected.

Glad my Georgia Bulldogs won. Go Georgia!!

What was the bad call by a ref in the Denver/San Diego game last Sunday? I missed it, but I guess it gave Denver the ball and they ended up scoring at the end.

If it happens this year it has to be in a bowl game. The only remaining out of Pac 10 game USC has this year is against ND Thanksgiving Saturday in the LA Coliseum.

Oregon State 27 - USC 21 (and it was not even that close.)

Oregon state is (or was) ranked 52. I guess USC joins the everyone else club with OSU (#16).

BTW: I liked the way Pete Carrol used the Jim Fassel (ex coach of the NY Giants) timeout philosophy. Get rid of the timeouts early so you don't have to think of using a timeout strategy at the end of the game when you actually need them.

The SEC has the #2, 3, 5, 6 spots in ranking. I think a couple will move up in the polls. Especially when Georgia beats Alabama. :MOJE_whot:

PS: The ratings are from the College Football rankings

John had a typo in his first post - I'll correct it:

There's USC, Oregon St, and everyone else.

chuck, yeah, it was a typo.. LOLOLOLOL...

I have short term memory problems and I meant to put that in.
Yeah, Oregon State, USC (South Carolina is what I meant), and everyone else

I do have a Gators cap, now that I "live" (sometimes) in Florida,
so let's go SEC.
