Was at Katie Belles last night and was entranced with the most amazing female vocalist - Mary Jo Vitale. This was her debut. She is trained in opera and sang selections from Broadway musicals--My Fair Lady, Man of La Mancha, Evita. Her rendition of To Dream the Impossible Dream was phenomenal. Her family sat at the table next to ours - a proud set of parents and grandparents. Saw Ronda there. If you see her name on the schedule, you will want to hear her.

jojo,

Wow! I would have liked to have been there to hear her sing those great tunes. Perhaps while I'm visiting next week or certainly once I have purchased and move into TV. BTW, get your tennis racket ready. wav

trust me; you won't need any practice vs. me. I'm still trying to figure out which end of the racket to hold. But, regarding the singer, did all the patrons seem to enjoy her in which case they may have her back. And, is she the type of entertainment which would be hired, on occasion, for the Town Sqaures?

Doubt if she would be hired for the town square but folks who have more tenure here than I could respond. As Ronda indicated, you would not dance to her. She is just an outstanding singer and I'm surprised she's not on a Broadway stage.

There ARE so many talented entertainers out there and I've always wondered why some become famous and others unknown.

Fumar, You think I NEED a LITTLE CULTURE???!!!! Well excuuuuuuuuse me. Shame on you! I lived 2.5 hours from NYC and went several times a year since my teens for culture, culture, culture. Nat King Cole, The Rat Pack, Cab Calloway, Elvis, Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, Symphonies, Classical, Mozart, Bach, Puccini, all jazz, broadway musicals, THE VILLAGE!!!!!!! I LOVE all music (EXCEPT new immoral junk I do not consider music!) I have frequented The Met, The Smithsonian, Carnegie Hall, History Museums, International Music Festivals................Culture? History? I can never get enough culture! I have never had the pleasure or opportunity for much international travel. The travel channel and history channel have to suffice. They fulfill yearning for culture. The internet opened up the world to me. I adore culture! I have researched www.ancestry.com and built a family tree going back 6 generations. Every kind of music ever played and historical culture and arts are an integral part of my daily life!!!! Dancing to classic rock is my way to exercise, and FEEL the music, and yes I do love it! But, I digress! I took tap and jazz dancing when I was a very young girl as well as acrobatics. I sang in HS chorus and my church choir. I was chosen from 40 dancers for the newspaper article about the dance performance. I can waltz, samba, fox trot, cha cha cha, polka, square dance, country line dance, and BOOGIE!!! Dancing warms my soul. Have been to most zoos, history and art musuems, cultural exhibits, aquariums and oceanographic institutes in NY, Boston, DC, Cape Cod, Quebec, Maine, NH, Toronto, Montreal, Bermuda, Bahamas, Nevada, Arizona, Mass., Conn. and more, to mountain hiking in New Hampshire and the rain forests in Antigua. For 34 years my hub and I and our kids have been weekend explorers. I would go to Garvinos, but can't stand the smell of cigars! I have gone to performances at Church on the Square, and sang with Bowzer on the beach in St. Thomas. With over 1000 CD's, I can assure you that I have a bit more than a little music culture. My preferred reading material- Art books! The history, the first berries, herbs, barks used for tempura mediums. I sew, sculpt, paint, dance, write, and have been to hundreds and hundreds of cultural events! Have I made it clear that you are mistaken??!!! Hope so! BTW, Nothing worse than a woman scorned... You should be .......Embarrassed FUMAR!!

I would hope old Fumar was kidding. Because if he wasn't I am coming down there to kick the :edit: out of him. ;)

I suspected this kind of artistic involvement. You were not right on top of the city, but you loved these beautiful things enough to travel five hours round trip! Well, you can not only paint, you take beautiful pictures, and now I find out you can dance and sing. I was so hopin' to hang out with you a lot, mostly because you are so funny, compassionate and quick witted, but now I am going to have to lie or something on my resume'. I love TOTV, it is like each person is a jewelry box and when we open it, we find a multifaceted diamond.

Here is a quote that describes you my hope-to-be-friend Rhonda.

"Witty, disarming, and busy all day".

Can't anyone else see that Fumar was joking?
Maybe if posters knew him and his style of humor they might chill, and not be ready to kick the :edit: out of him.

Thanks for defending me, but I can handle FU. No Worries!!! LOL We call him King Fu, he calls himself "The Great Fumar". Sometimes I need to set things straight! Sometimes I think he is a FUME OF HOT AIR!!! OK OK I can get a bit heated in defense. SORRY!! LOL Fumar, do you need dance lessons, is that the problem??? You have 2 left feet? ..........................................I got the music in me...... Rok
