With all the focus and intensity and comfort some seek by vowing who should or should not be a heart beat away from the Presidency, is there not another concern??
Given the terrorists intent to inflict more damage on American soil as the promised (they keep their promises). Assume for a minute that our President and Vice President are on their list of prime targets.
How many are concerned that Nancy Pelosi is only 2 heartbeats away from the Presidency.

If that thought does not give pause to most Americans, I would be very surprised.
The epitome of all that is wrong with American politics. She is the most inside insider ever.

I just raise this as fodder for the partisan chopper upper discussions follow....only to get off teen age pregnancy as a National issue (wishful thinking).

In any case who would have Nancy Pelosi as a candidate for VP let alone be in line for the Presidency....not many I would bet. The first heartbeat away candidates are both sterling compared to Pelosi. A potential disaster to our nation. Just look at her track record!

OK...I have my flak jacket on....let it fly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a scary prospect and a true shame. Pelosi was great on the local political scene -- she really did work hard for her constituents. I'm not sure what happened when she hit DC but it wasn't pretty. If it does happen, I hope she somehow finds her footing and goes back to the Nancy Pelosi who really did try to do right.

It is scary to think of Nancy Pelosi as president. She would be a do nothing. Come to think of it......that would be a huge improvement over the damage done by GWB and president Cheney.

Perhaps an interesting move for the Republicans would be for President Bush and VP Cheney resign from office three days before the November election. That would make Rep. Pelosi the President and Sen. Byrd the VP for that short period of time.

It would also force both Rep. Pelosi and Sen. Byrd to resign from Congress to accept the succession. If they did not, SecState Rice and SecTreas Paulson take over (unless one of the dems decide to accept the succession, and then SecState Rice becomes VP.
