Can anyone recommend a place to take knives to have them sharpened?

I have two solutions for you. The first is a gentleman who does excellent work and is very reasonable. He is a snowbird who lives in the Villages.

The other source is a vender at the far East end of the Market of Marion who custom makes wood signs and does sharpening..

Another alternative if those don't work out is to ask your hair utter when someone will be in the shop to sharpen scissors (or the name of the perso who does it). They're usually happy to do your knives as well.

My neighbor took about a dozen knives to the vendor at the Market of Marion and was not satisfied with her work. I've had her sharpen my mower blade there with okay results.
For a super sharp honing on your lawn mower blade, take it to Wildwood Mower & Supply on SR 44 and US 301 ($5).

Another negative vote for the Merion Market sharpener. Ruined my chef's knive. Look elsewhere.

A third negative vote for the Marion Market sharpener. Our time it was a guy, and he mutilated my kitchen knives.

My husband did ours here at home and I cut my finger first thing. I was used to the dull knife and he forgot to tell me.

My wife bought a knife sharpener and does a fabulous job with the knives. They are as sharp as you can get them. We have Cutco knives. (And I never try to upset her for any reason. )

Go to Harbor Freight in Leesburg. They have several sharpening choices at a very low price that will give excellent results. I've always been a fanatic on having my knives sharp enough to shave with.
