We have owned a house in TV for the last three years. Our move date has finally arrived. After last winter in Maine, this is a long awaited move. We should arrive in TV on 10/17.
I've been lurking on TOTV for about a year. Thanks to everyone for all the advice and I an sure I'll be asking a lot of questions once we get there.

Welcome. We have owned for 2 years, have no moving date thanks to a conspiracy of events to keep us in NY. Last winter here was brutal as well, so looks like our new plan is move everything to TV and sell the house in absentia. Hope to be there in 6 weeks the latest. BTW, my wife's maiden name is Casey, supposedly all Casey's are related and traditionally have been bartenders in County Cork.

We should be there in a little over three weeks. Long move from Southern California but worth it in the long run.

Since it's football season, it sounds like we should all have a "homecoming" party:MOJE_whot:

We're headed down from NY next week but due to the flooding in SC we're probably going to have to take a longer route through Georgia.

looks like 95-->85-->75 should avoid the hard hit areas

Yep that's what we're planning on except we'll be coming via 81 and 77 due to an along the way visit to family in central Pennsylvania (picking up 85 in Charlottte).

It will certainly be milder than a CT winter. And you will love it here. Welcome.

A small town in western Maine nobody's ever heard of. 54 square miles, 2,100 residents. It is going to be a little bit of culture shock when we get there. I can't even see my neighbors' house here...but I know they are there if I need them.

I worked a couple years at the paper mill in Madison before I finally moved here. Anywhere near there? Actually 2100 people is a pretty good size town for Maine. You'll enjoy checking weather in Maine from here, I know I did last winter. Welcome

My small town in Western Maine is smaller than yours! Approx 1,000 FT residents...Oxford County! Us PTers, do our best to help the economy in summer and ski seasons! :)

It's a good time to do an inventory and take pics of your items as you unpack for insurance company. :welcome:home
