Can anyone recommend a hair stylist who is both a really good cutter as well as a really good stylist! I have fine hair and like a shaggy, edgy cut and also need color. I have a so so stylist now but am not happy. I have seen so many dated poor cuts here. I don't get it as the prices are certainly nopt cheap.
Any help out there?

Tusacny Days Spa and Salon in Lake Sunpter Landing.
Ask for Helen....however she is always booked pretty far out. The other stylists are excellent as well. The folks at the desk will guide you to one when you describe what you want.
If you go there be sure to check out the secluded spa on the second floor.

The Beauty School by Walmart on 466... The students work so hard..they perform no work until they evaluate what you want...from color to cut... and then a instructor comes to approve their evaluation.. The instructors check every step of the procedure...The prices are fantastic..just remember it is a teaching school..so it takes a little longer...Another big plus is the students are young and will suggest "New Cuts & Colors" Look in The Daily Sun for monthly specials..

I go to Cals in Brownwood. Rene' cuts my hair. She knows what she is doing and listens to what you want. Can't hurt to give her a try.

I see so many new people with hair that isn't going to be comfortable with their new lifestyle.
I think many choose their haircut to fit the active lifestyle here. When your hair is being blown in a golf cart or dunked in the swimming pool, that changes a lot of people's choices on how they want it cut.

Sorry Gracie but my hair will blow even short. All depends on your hair.

I loved Carla at Salon Jaylee. She was at Colony when I went to her. I see that she's now a Managing Partner for them at Rolling Acres Plaza. I only stopped going to her because I couldn't justify paying the rates they charged for as often I needed to go for my short style. If money was no object I would still be going to her. I now go to Cal's at Brownwood. Not as happy with my hair but it really doesn't make much difference after just a few minutes in the golf cart.

you will be shocked to hear this perhaps but Cals Salon in Spanish Springs has a stylist named Kevin who does JUST what you want...edgy cuts..and is good at it. I know several people who have modern-updated haircuts that give him 5 stars!

I would seriously warn against going to the beauty school -- I went there last November and the cut and color they gave me had crying for days -- yes the instructor came over -- but it was way too late BEWARE

It took them FIVE and a half hours to perm my mother's hair. She had her hip replaced in less time than that!!
