The TOTV menu carries to its right the number of replies, the number of those who have viewed the thread and the nature of the forum.

I have learned over the years of posting on TOTV that if there are ample replies that perhaps the topic has been discussed thoroughly enough. I find this is true in most cases; albeit there may be times when a poster hasn't fully expanded a thought and sharing would be beneficial

Agreed. Too many replies and I don't even know if many people look at it.

In addition, some topics which appear when you hover your pointer over are no longer valid. I use as an example the topic on Sweetgum.

When first viewed, it states conditions are horrible and an ambassador said it may be closed down. Well . . . it was and is now reopened and in better shape.
So perhaps this could be closed?

Just my opinion!

Hi ugotme: I posted this topic because perhaps too many people are simply posting an opinion based on the thread's description and not reading comments already posted. It could be someone has responded already with the same thought and the subsequent poster followed closely behind. so I can see where a few posts following would have the same thought but some posters are two + pages past and saying the same thing. It also crowds the topic so that at some point it all becomes very confusing. It does however indicate where many posters interest lie such as the tree cutting incident . Another acceptable practice is if your post is being applied to validate an issue then I can see the need for repeating a thought, fact, incident...(ie) .I too saw a coyote at...

I try to remember this before I post. "Am I adding anything more or different to this post. if the points made move on. If I fail in this take me to task I deserve it

I wonder what would happen if there was a separate TOTV with a 140 character limit like Twitter. Would posters weigh their words and/or be more succinct? Try this tool out.

You are right rub. After I joined TOTV, I was surprised to realize how many people obviously never read the posts which results in many people saying the same thing over and over..

Isn't that what Rubicon said?

...... I was surprised to realize how many people obviously never read the posts which results in many people saying the same thing over and over.. There have been a couple of posters who came right out and said "I can't be bothered to read all the previous posts".
And then the person asked a question that had already been answered. :Screen_of_Death:

Good idea. Perhaps a trial run on the Political Talk forum.

I consider your comments a form of validation. The difference being that you make reference to a posters comments has having merit....again different than a form of flattery such as poster you are so smart...:D
