I hope some of you will look at the One Blood facebook page. You will see why people donate and other interesting stories.
I like the gifts you get but also the feeling that you are doing something for other people.
I cannot give blood or anything else to OneBlood for another 7 weeks or so because of a bad day with the needle while giving platelets on Thursday 10/08/2015 at the OneBlood Villages Donation Center. This rarely happens though and I will bet that they are a lot more careful after my mishap.
Partially my fault too for not screaming when the pain started in the platelet exchange process.

I don't do Facebook, but I'm still glad to see you posted a link for it. Having to wait 7 weeks isn't so bad, back when I was working, I used to do the double red cells so that I had 4 months before I could donate again. I still gave 2 units but I got a 4 month break for my work schedule. In Michigan, where we lived in a small town, the only way we could donate was during the blood drives and they didn't have platelet capabilities there. Down here I like the donor center and I am a regular platelet donor every 2 weeks.

I am glad you are doing that. I have some bruise cream that works very well so that I do not look so much like I just walked off of the Fear the Walking Dead or The Walking Dead sets.

Well, I got a phone call yesterday and all of my appointments are cancelled until Dec 18th. I hit my limit for the year.

I cannot donate until December 3, 2015 but may do a blood donation on 12/14/2015 at a blood mobile. I will see if I am brave enough for platelets after the mishap last time at the Villages Donor Center. Still have a pretty bad bruise but it is much better than it was. The bruise cream I have been using worked wonders.
